Thanks all for the comments, pics and that Video
Good to meet you guys there today
Thats us just home after a wee celebratory drink with Jon and Dee from Scoobymag who set the day up for us with Straightliners Full report in a coming issue !
It was a bit of a wild ride in comparison to the 199 mph run a few weeks ago, this time we had the drag tyres on to increase the effective gearing. Problem is that they are only 15" rims with very tall sidewalls. The walls are also very soft in order to wrinkle up during a drag launch......this is not what you want at this speed !
It was my 3rd and final run before I summoned the guts (nuts?) to keep the foot planted when it got twitchy as I changed into 5th at 165mph.
0 to 210mph in 30 seconds
Interestingly, from the datalogs it was still accelerating at 1mph per second as I crossed the line ! Running further up the track was out of the question though as I needed all the room I had to stop it, the 15" rims only allow my 2 pot brakes up front The usual AP 6pots sitting in the garage gathering dust !
cheers
Andy

What can be said that hasnt already been said?
Congratulaitions Andy,
Thought it was a nice gesture for Rod Tarry to post his congratulations, he obviously recognises the amount of hard work getting a car past these incredible speeds.
Being a cossie boy he could easily turn his nose up at the scooby lads.
Once again Congratulations Andy........ fantastic achievement

Wow truly amazing, well done, that speed would humble some of the best supercars out there, and even more impressive, only 30secs to get there! Cant wait for the full write up in Scoobymag. If it was still accelerating at 1mph per second then surely bigger brakes are called for so that you could squeeze some more out of it b4 hitting the anchors? What would your estimation be if u could use the NOS, or isn't that practical?

Yep sorry blonde moment!
Does cooling become an issue? I didnt think the classics liked more than 100 for too long. (although it is only 30secs!)

Ollie,
I guess Andy has a proper intercooler and radiator and perhaps even an oil cooler. Unlikely you build a car with that spec of engine without upgrading all the anciliary cooling devices.
Cheers

that is insane!!! just curious... with all this power, are you able to still turn the car? If so, you are really a supercar killer... you'd think 1/4 mile would be slow, but you also have insane numbers there too! And your aero mods are surprisingly simple...
Aside from the Crawford block, is anything else done? That is simply amazing... I wonder if my bug eye can ever do that... i'd like to see video of you driving on the motorway, picking on supercars and bikes...
