Don't know if there's any ex-Desert Combat players lurking in this thread, but our resident clan map-making genius has knocked up an amazing version of Basrah's Edge which you can download from here along with his versions of El Alamein, Gazala and Operation Aberdeen.

DC rocked! Basrah's edge a definite favorite. What was the other similar map to it where there was the camel you could ride in a shed?!?
Still sorting out my mic situation with the new set up but have been playing a bit on 50klicks city maps if anyone from scoobynet is on and needs a good squad to join.

A number of us had problems initially post the patch.
I would suggest you remove the 'cache' directory located somewhere within 'My Documents/Battlefield 2' - then relaunch.
It took me 4 attempts at joining a server before it all worked post applying the full patch.
It also wipes all your GFX settings, so you'll need to configure those again anyhow.

Change of subject - what is the default screen capture key?
There's been a few occasions when a screen capture would've shown a great picture but I missed the opportunity

Unfortunately I couldn't get back on after that mass drop not long after we started the game proper...
Ping times on the Server wouldn't drop below 250ms for me, so it was pointless trying.
I got a few other games in, but you know what it's like - no one works together and you can't have a laugh.
Still - that bit when I dropped the car in the pre-game bit
"Look up"
"Wha?"
"OH SH*T!!!!!!"
<clunk>
Absolute class - you couldn't make up something funnier than that ad lib moment

Hi,
Just got myself a copy of BF2. I've d/l'd and installed the 1.3 full patch but when i run the game it come's up with a window for the same patch with a link to E.A. Ver. displayed is 1.1.2878-710.0. Is this right? Is there anyway of removeing the msg from E.A?
Cheers.

Had a look last night but nobody was on it. Ended up playing on a [UK] server till 0430. Got totally hacked off with the game as just like most fps, everyone does their own thing, which isnt bad normally!. But in BF2, a little bit of co-ord and co-op would go a long way i think. even a sniper should have 1 guy for support/firepower. (sorry, can you tell i'm a squaddie? )

We're tonight, probably around 8:30-9pm - although official kick off is 8, very few make it on by then due to other commitments.
BF2 (ordinary, the original, the best... ) tonight

Sammy - there are problems still, I got one CTD tonight.
I've had to clear my cache since the update and Si_copath had to do a manual PB update.
Hope you get it sorted - check your ping too.
