Madgrip, I've never heard of queueing for anything, but if someone is waiting at the pad I always let them jump in. Perhaps he thought you were just waiting for a pilot as you couldnt fly very well. I always see people hanging about heli pads without them trying to get in, so it's really the first to jump aboard. You cant really muscle someone out the way but I guess they could sprint and beat you to the chopper if they got the jump on you.

I think what you could also do with the d/l is to install the EA downloader at home and copy the cache directory from the work machine to your home p.c. and try that.

Is your router plugged into a set-top-box for the cable connection - eg NTL box, if so, reboot the NTL box, I regularly have to do this to get a new IP leased.

MADGRIP - re helis, I can only assume he thought you were waiting for a pilot as said by someone else - if someone is waiting on a pad, we (SNAFU) don't normally muscle in... although equally, first person to the chopper basically gets to be pilot - mad-dash if you like.

Also guys - if you need 'a ride' use the command rose (Q) to request it, I (and the others) will tend to wait for you to jump in, sometimes even come back for you!

I played Euro Force for about an hour yesterday. Looks good, nice maps and loads of coverage for mines and C4

Did anyone else noticed their game score was less than usual?

I only got to about 28 points in the Euro games I played where as I'm normally on about 50-ish. I suppose it may be because of having to learn the new maps and a smaller amount of players etc.

28 is less?

If I score over 20 I figure I've done okay! what the heck am *I* doing wrong?

(actually I've noticed my IAR scores steadily rising as I get the hang of the support Kit I just need to remember to drop ammo packs around the map to help people out...)

Wink

You do know that if you drop an ammo pack and one of the enemy pick it up you loose points....

Kieran,

If I play solo, I generally only get about 20-ish points. If I play with my clan I get about 45 points as I generally play Medic so support my team when I'm not attacking.

Thumbs up Backing up Euro Forces to CD/DVD

Goto

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\YOUREAUSERNAME\eagamesbf2-2006online_map_contentbf2euro

All the Euro Forces setup files are there.

Saves having to download it again if you reinstall.

Anyone know why the awards are taking so long to come through? I got at least 3 silver medals (and possibly one Gold) not to mention the basic engineer and basic first aid badges... non of which have shown up... and some of them i got two days ago.

All played on ranked servers

Good? We got our ***** kicked from here to high heaven!

Mind you, the team speak was a right laugh Being a commander is a whole lot easier when someone is directly telling you where to drop supplies or artillery!

Not entirely convinced about the EF levels . Huge maps and a lot of running around in a pack of tanks (everyone an 'Eng') and not too many tactics. The maps are so big I felt a couple needed a 64 player server.

Or maybe I'm just hacked off at getting killed too many times...

Well I got killed WAY too many times myself, but I have to agree that it felt like a game of Command and Conquer! You know - the old tank rush tactic.

In the end we had to go 'round in a pack of Anti-Tank guys and just had a slugging match

It does seem strange that in a map like Great Wall, which would be a great infantry only map (loads of nooks and crannies and areas that infantry can slug it out) that so many tanks etc have been made available. This slightly spoils the balance of this map imo.

Anyway, on the other maps fair enough, much more suited to open ground tank warfare. They remind me of the huge tank battles of the original BF1942, which I guess some people will love. I think you just need to accept these are tank maps, although I still think the balance is off for anyone wanting to slog it out on foot. Perhaps the winning side had the right idea last night, hunt in packs of tanks. EF deffo focuses on vehicle team work. I'll remember that for next time

Comes as quite a shock to run 'round a corner and see at least 3 armoured vehicles coming toward you I may have to check my stats to see if my greatest death streak has gone up (not to mention greatest enemy!)

If anyones on tonight I might be "practicing" those very maps. Fire up TS if your on and perhaps we can try some armoured tic tacs.
