That is probably just as well... when you ship it back over put the gold wheels on you don't want any damage in transit.

I've just seen the first post on this page.

Your car and those wheels look amazing. They really do

I'd just like to point out one area of really big concern to me Your tyres are not wide enough to fully protect your new rims

I purchased a set of rims and tyres for a Pug a few years back. The tyres also left the rims exposed, and although I did not kerb them, the rims started to chip. Little stones etc may strike the outer part of your rim.

If you fit a tyre with a rim protector (eg F1 GSD3) then even though the tyre is supposedly the same width as the ones you have, the sidewall really fully protects your rims. It made a really huge difference to my old car.

Just something to consider anyway

I understand your concerns and it was a concern of mine also when I was looking at these but there is a small lip on the tyre that curves out and even though it would not protect from curbing I think it will be enough to stop or at least help stop road grit from hitting them.
You can't quite make it out on my original picture but I do have a few more that show the tyre curve slightly clearer.

When you look down the car the alloy does not protrude out from the tyre wall I'm pleased to say. I have a set of splash guards that I'm having colour coded so that should help protect the sides of my doors also.

Yes, from those new photos I think you are just about covered from normal road grit

I was looking around for the photos of my wheels, turns out that I have deleted them The difference was staggering between by Kumo and GSD3 tyres. Yours are somewhere in the middle. The GSD3s were about a whole inch wider on the tyre shoulders

Here's hoping that everything stays just as nice as it is now

I would say your rear arches would be in danger of scuffing Matt. 225-35-18 would be fine though.

If their Turini's then the wheel will be 8" wide where most are 7.5" so you really want a 215 tyre on there.

As you see the springs work well thanks for your help on those

It's a shame not to see your white one still not adorning the boards
