there is a can of worms here.

you can get a uk wrx these days so i guess you talking about a jap import?

Generally you get more bang for you buck with a jap(JDM) impreza, though some people fear imports. i had a uk300 to start then went on to a JDM STI and have never looked back.

as for chipping dependant on what you have done and who does it realibility should be fine. with the budget you have i would be very careful selecting whatever model you buy as the older they are the more punishment they will have been given etc, having said that a friend recently bought a cracker for little more. Service history is a must in my book.

If your dad is on his 3rd speak to him - he will have learned valuable lessons...

as rob said,but it also depends on your age uks are cheeper to insure.

thinking about it and looking at some dyno read outs also considering insurance i will be 22 when i get one (march) with 3 years no claims i will probably go for an english one maybe even a five door as they are a bit cheaper to buy and i will fit my dog in the back no probs.does any one know of an chipped uk and where is the best place to get it done.cheers
