It's not inferior to the blob-eye as it is essentialy the same car. I think the blob-eye is even uglier than the bug-eye. The blob-eye is the same comprimise as the bug-eye.

And why is it for the 'financially constrained' when bug-eyes are more expensive than equivilent classics?

You are now contradicting yourself.

quote you earlier in the thread "51-reg bugeyes are selling for about the same price as the last of the classics"

At least try to be consistent.

What is that meant to prove? That you just contradicted yourself?

"why is it for the 'financially constrained' when bug-eyes are more expensive than equivilent classics?"

"51-reg bugeyes are selling for about the same price as the last of the classics"

Which of those mutually exclusive statements do you believe?

Looking at your figures (taken from what source we have no idea)they seem to be more or less the same price.

The source is Parkers car guide.

Ok, I contradicted myself over the price, when you've been arguing that price doesnt matter? Why should you care then?

Firstly Parkers is a bag of sh1te you may as well have just made some figures up.

I don't 'care' that you contradict yourself I'm just pointing it out because you seem to be making it up as you go along. What are you going to contradict yourself on next I wonder?

You're 15 and own a bugeye? Well done.

As for the debate I already won it when you entered on the losing side.

Put simply what's wrong with the bugeye is that it isn't fast for the amount of money it costs to run. Add to that styling which is universally despised (except of course by those that own them) the fact it's slower than the car that came before it and that you can buy a blobeye for a few K more and it's clear to see the problem.

So what about those that bought them new, not really a financial decision then is it. I had the choice of 2 when I bought mine a bugeye in black with morette conversion and a blobeye in silver , price difference or 1.5k and 1yr in age between the 2, I could easily have afforded to buy either but preffered the look of the bug with the morette's , as they drove exactly the same I went for the one I liked the look of, to say that its a poor mans impreza is a very lame argument it cost the same new as all other imprezzas (appart from sti etc).

People who bought them new got owned by Subaru although................we are talking about now, the present, or at least I thought we were.

Blobeye I drove MY2004 felt a lot faster than the MY2001 Bugeye I looked at when getting rid of my 'classic'.

May have felt it, but it only has an extra 7bhp and also gained 10 kgs.

I generally buy cars 2 yrs old so I dont have to eat the huge losses incurred when buying new , so whatever is available around that age is what I buy, next yr I will be looking for a 2 yr old sti so I suppose it will be a blobeye, cant beleive ur making such a fuss over a set of headlights and a few minor cosmetic changes, from the headlights back the bug and blob look and handle practically the same, as for the classic , well its an old car isnt it ,I dont buy old cars.

The classic is an old car yes.

The naysayers are aware of the 18 second 0-100 time of the bugeye I take it?

Blobeye is more than a few horsies.

17.93s vs 17.49s, the blob's not exactly hugely faster, i'd be surprised if you could tell the difference on the road, as mine does it in about 12s I dont really care how fast it is in standard form.

TruthHurts...I cant beleive you are getting away with this as lightly as you are, your remarks where you will calling people poor and saying about scavenging throuh bins...Your a dick!!! what makes you better then those people that actually have to do that....your personality??? your kindness?? your use of the internet to make new friends and talk to people with similar interests??

You also remarked about people being sad and coming on here when not at work....When in reality what is sad is people coming onto a subaru site to discriminate against subaru owners!!!

I own a 97 sport that cost me <3000 now im sure you will have a lot to say about this.....but i am 18 and have worked ****ing hard to get the car which i want!!!

Now you could own £1000000 worth of cars and you would still be a dick!!

now if you dnt mind im a stuck up bitch with no friends.com is missing there regular...

Thumbs up ........so that was the real issue eh?

your such a f@@king ignoramous visitor to these shores who uses UK hotels for comfort breaks because ther are obviously none in your ******* shanty town, and then further proceeds to come onto Scoobynet slagging Subaru's off regardless of the model because you drive a ******* German Cortina then get touchy when someone accuses you of catching your fella ******** a bugeye owner when the OBVIOUS FACT can be seen in your reply below that your 'partner' is some other shantytown sl@pper *******. P155 off with your german sh1te and hassle some other forum but leave Scoobynet and Subaru's alone. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I don't have a 'missus' that's for low rent scumbags like yourself, merely a partner.

In answer to our question what have I got against bugeyes, your answer has already been given. They are ****e.

Should have added I wasted some sad sack in his bugeye who then proceeded to cry about it like a bitch on here.

For all those people on about the differance in performance between a bugeye and a classic/ Blob onwards, How many Type RA/R or 22b owners do you see saying that the uk classic/ blobeye is an under powered slow piece of poo. Virtually none.

And there are to differant types of bugeye wrx, the 01 Yplate and 51 Plate, and the 02 , 02, 52 possibly 03 plate. You can tell the differance by the fact the MY02 has no visible radio ariel, other changes were allegedly made to the uppipe and ecu map to make the engine smoother at low rpm, could theses later bugeyes have secretly had the 03 engine mods of the blobeyes. And before anyone says surely they would change the official specs, at the bottom of them it says "subaru reserves the right to change the specification without notification" .

I don`t think this is the first time that they have secretly done this. And also no one is taking into account of the fact you could get a good engine or a bad engine on any of the models thus making a differance in performance.

Asbestos suit at the ready.
