In the 70's I lost control of a Cortina MK2 ... but, then again, it did have cross-ply tyres on, no PAS, no fancy 4 wheel drive, no ABS (in fact it had drums all round!) - I pulled it back into shape ............
Now THAT was driving!!!!
Anyone who loses a Scooby is an idiot who has not one clue about how to drive properly!! You wouldn't get my old Cortina round the first bend!!
I don't know, kiddies these days - haven't a clue!!

You know how it is with these P1's, Ive only got a 2 inch gap in the screen to look through! Rest of my view is taken up by gauges , cocklinks and flashing lights!!!
When it snows find a big car park and learn how to drive in it - I know it is a lot slower but it will seriously help you. Try driving down a straight section with the handbrake on and making the car swing from side to side.
It taught me how to control a car and last year when I was driving in the final of the Aintree scholarship I got 94% for my driving in an MG-ZR off Jamie Pickford - Now racing in the BTCC for Seat.

However i gave it some opposite lock (well not quite lock) and it fetched straight back into alignement!
I know that feeling of terror and then the sheer buzz, so this is not a criticism, and in any case, I'm not a skilled driver, am new to scooby ownership, and am learning how to get the best out of my car, but...
In my experience of a PPPd WRX, they understeer a lot anyway and the best way I've found to correct that is to keep the power on and let the car pull itself back into line. Admittedly I've discovered this in relatively controlled conditions and at much lower speeds, but can anyone tell me whether this technique is OK, or am I going to land myself up in trouble?

Keep your speed down at any bend in or out and give it large in a straight line, that way you shouldent kill yourself or anyone else and never boot it major on a damp or wet road no matter what people tell you or how good you think you are, there is no point bitching about tracks we have all done something stupid on the road at sometime, give the guy a break, lets face it he dident have to tell us did he???
