if she said LOL to a loved one in a text it means you're a clown and she is treating you with that reciprocal retort, befitting of a clown? It's not a compliment, it's purely a responsive noun LOL :0

sorry but text LOL and internet forum LOL are 2 different things. LOL in txt speak is a salutation for ending a message and means Lots of Love while LOL in forum speak is Laugh out loud. i think LOL in text messaging is a girlie thing

Ever since I saw 'lol' on AoL chat about 10 years ago, I though it was an extremely sad thing to type , lol! ...Aw, bolloks!
I use it very rarely, although I couldn't honestly say I've never used it! Smilies are great though
What's wrong with just typing 'ha ha' or 'he he' - much less gay/american

Yeah yeah, we believe you Don't HAMs use HAM radio instead of localised CB? Mind you, back when CB was fashionable I remember my Dad having a slightly illegal 100ft aerial in the back garden

My uncle is a HAM, so are some guys at work. They're a bit different if you ask me. They do talk, but it's a bit G9JUE or something. I don't really get it, but it's probably cool when you talk to people on the other side of the planet. IRC works for me.

the reason we use lol or LOL is because it uses less letters and is quicker to text or type.
if you think something is mildly funny then he he might cover it but if something is 'very' funny then lol is the one, and its quicker to put lol instead of a smilie in a text.some people cant recieve smilies on there phones anyway
and if something is even funnier you can use this :lol1 : and to go one better, : lol: which is HTH
