Gamespot have posted a "video tour" from TGS2005 of the game during which the Bizarre representative showing off the game specifically states that PGR3 is on track for the launch of the Xbox 360.

Good news for PGR3

Xbox 360: 2 Remotes , Production started week of Sept. 5th
>> Crave.cnet.co.uk attended a lecture by Jonathan Hayes, lead designer for the Xbox 360, at London's Design Museum last week where they saw the final retail Xbox360. They posted a few interesting details:
* Full production of the Xbox 360 started in the week of september 5th 2005.
* There will be two versions of the Xbox 360 remote control, used to navigate the console's media menus. The one you'll get (free) in the premium package as launch promotion will be the basic model. The larger one will sell separately, has more buttons and lights up, which will be useful for home cinema use.
* They also talked about the design of the Xbox360: "Microsoft used a four-axis design template, with 'Wild' and 'Mild' on the horizontal, and 'Organic' to 'Architectural' on the vertical. Gamers erred more towards organic when shown potential Xbox 360 designs, and Microsoft is offering interchangeable faceplates to let people decide whether they want to take a walk on the Wild or Mild side."

Sony to cut 10,000 jobs, $1 bln assets for revival

Struggling electronics and entertainment conglomerate Sony Corp. said on Thursday it would cut about 7 percent of its global work force, sell more than $1 billion in real estate and other assets and post an annual loss.

...

Sony also unveiled plans to sell 120 billion yen worth of real estate, stocks and non-core assets by 2007/08, vowed to reduced the number of product models by 20 percent and close 11 of its 65 manufacturing plants around the globe.

...

Sony has already cut 20,000 jobs and significantly lowered fixed costs under a previous three-year restructuring plan called "Transformation 60" that was scheduled to end in the current business year.

But revenues and profits have not recovered.

Changing your Gamertag will be possible with Xbox Live - Confirmed
>> From joystiq.com:
Earlier in the week you may have read that it'll be possible to change your Gamertag with the Xbox 360. We thought this sounded cool since in the current Xbox Live once you've chosen a Gamertag, you're stuck with it. Unfortunately we couldn't find a source legit enough to confirm this, so naturally we fired off an email to the people that know: Microsoft's PR team.
They got back to us over the phone and confirmed this as a feature of the new Xbox Live. You will be able to change your Gamertag. Here's how it's all going to work:
If you opt to change your Gamertag, all of the information associated with your old Gamertag will stay with you - Friends List, achievements, ranking, feedback, stats, tournaments, etc. The only thing that changes is your Gamertag. Your new Gamertag will automatically appear on your Friends List. You can send a single message to all your friends via the message center to let them know about your new Gamertag.

"

* The Countdown for Xbox 360 Begins at X05 (from pressrelease)
"Peter Moore, corporate vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Publishing for Xbox at Microsoft, also announced that triple Academy Award winners Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will serve as the executive producers of "Halo," the upcoming feature film based on Microsoft's phenomenally popular video game. This unique alliance between Universal Studios, 20th Century Fox, Microsoft, and Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh promises a step forward in motion picture production. "Halo" will benefit from the experience and resources of the film studios, from Microsoft's groundbreaking vision and from Jackson's and Walsh's creative sensibilities and expertise in both traditional filmmaking and the world of emerging digital technologies.
Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) Executive Vice President and General Manager of International Publishing Gerhard Florin took to the stage to announce the Xbox 360 exclusive "FIFA 06: Road to FIFA World Cup" and confirm "Godfather," "Burnout" and "Battlefield" -- along with a new franchise, "Superman" -- as coming soon to Xbox 360. Ubisoft Entertainment chose X05 to announce the return of Sam Fisher in "Splinter Cell 4." In addition, id Software Inc. CEO Todd Hollenshead revealed the seminal "Castle Wolfenstein" for Xbox 360.
"This is the start of a new era in interactive entertainment," Florin said. "The combined power of Xbox 360 and innovation from EA in graphics, animation and gameplay means consumers will have unprecedented levels of interaction and rich connection with the games they play. EA has more than 20 games in development for Xbox 360 and is delivering quality entertainment in support of the launch with franchises like ‘Need for Speed,' ‘FIFA,' ‘NBA Live,' ‘Tiger Woods' and ‘Madden NFL.' Today's X05 event is a global showcase of great digital entertainment to come."
The press conference also provided the perfect forum for Xbox Vice President J Allard to demonstrate the seamless integration and enhanced offering of the Xbox Live service with Xbox 360 -- and with other electronic devices in the home -- heralding the beginning of next-generation online gaming and online entertainment. From playing music files from an iPod to personalizing gameplay by buying car parts from Xbox Live Marketplace in Project Gotham Racing 3 to features such as Family Settings and Enhanced Matchmaking, Xbox Live is expanding the limits of what is possible.
"
