Cheers Banshi, top day

I was a little disapointed that I couldn't show you guys the bike, hey hum, there's always next time, the track did look a tad slippy though actually, it could of resulted in me gettin more than mi knee down

Anyway, I really enjoyed the racing, excelent fun

Thanks also to G+H for guiding me to and from Hazzy And thanks to Sarah and co for letting me have a couple of extra goes, hey, you finished a place ahead of me, which I might add was in front of Mellow too

Cheers,

Bob, still stuffed from the meal

Top afternoon and evening - thanks for sorting it out Banshi.

I only broke two karts, though we all seemed to be killing them at regular intervals today.

Oh, I won a race!

Had a great laugh over the meal - thanks for the great company.

Just popped on to say thanks to everyone for making this another great event.
My reluctance to say no to anyone meant a number of late additions. That put a lot of pressure on the circuit management and caused chaos at Karims. I do hope it didn't detract too much from the proceedings.
My apologies to MTR & Bob that an over ambitious programme prevented the intervals entertainment. Special apologies go to Mathew, thanks for not showing your dissapointment. I will remember and make it up to you.

On a more positive note, black flags and wipe outs omitted I think the day went quite well. There are a few things under consideration for next year and when the weather improves there will be a little serious outdoor kartin'. But by request, get your red coats out and jingle your bells, ho ho ho, Christmas Karts anyone?

B

PS Given the talent and determination displayed by youngsters that had never been in a kart before this evening. I'm considering quiting while I'm ahead. Even if it's only ahead of Mellow in a kart with a miss fire, fff.....flat tyre, bad steering geometry, fuel surge, shot slicks. Sorry, can't remember the other six reasons, memory's going it's an age thing you know.

Were any of you guys on Hyde Rd in Denton on Saturday night, about 7.30 ish? Only asking because i went past a shed load of scoobies on my way out of town and the first thing I thought of was "Scoobynet" Didn't see any irate cyclists giving you the vees though, so on second thoughts maybe it wasn't you ;-)

(p.s. I was in a black 3rd gen Mazda RX-7)

Hiya Bob, I mean't to say thanks earlier to the guys who helped with boot lock prob, cheers.
I looked at it when I got home last night (its been hissing down all mornin' and I aint got as far as the car yet!) the whole lock is very loose and the damage to the sill lines up with it perfect. Its definately rusty coloured so prob done anytime over last few weeks/months. Funny though, the boot lid is untouched and the rubber seal umarked. I think the scuff marks on the bumper could be the result of bein in front of those two infamous Black Flaggers, Banshi & Mellow, but I don't remember them ever getting that close.......

cu later,

thanks Barry, for organising yet another fantastic carting event and meal.
Next time we'll have to ballast the carts, not that I'm bothered about being beaten by a very young (and slim) lady.
Barry, hope you don't get too much stress at work cause you didn't cope too well with getting a black flag Black flags must be a trait of P1 owners, not being able to overtake without thier extra power and getting frustrated, cause didn't Mellow get one as well.
I was in carts 6,9 and 10 as well.
Great afternoon and evening, nice to see everybody.

LOL@ slider, you could definitely be onto something there!!

For those who did'nt attend karting, this is what happens when a 21st century male gets blacked flagged

Steve, give us a chance m8, with the piccies it takes time to erase the no. plates from the cars

Hi all

Banshi may I add my thanks for a very fun (If not comprtitive Hey mellow )afternoon/evening.
I see I wasn't the only one to suffer from the misfiring and ill handling kart syndrome though.
I heard more excuses about I'd have won if it wasn't for blah blah blah than your average F1 race .
If your thinking of Christmas Karts how about trying Warrington as I've heard thats pretty good?

Steve

Glad the torch came in handy.Bummer about the damage though.

Thanks again

Chris

I'm happy to do Warrington but only the main arena, the support circuit is, how can I put it politely, ****!!

That means numbers and more money. In fact on the day we had enough drivers to run at Warrinton but when booking had to be confirmed (and cash paid) we were well short. Also, I could only lever those Yorkshire wallets open far enough to grab 25 quid.

Edit for spelling
B

Hi all

I would also like to thank Banshi for letting me and my mate come at such short notice and allowing us to meet such a great bunch of people.I still think everybody should have a sticker with their Scoobynet name

The racing was very close ,although I'm not sure if Mellow realised it's a non contact sport I've got a bit of whiplash after being in a race with him.
I was lucky enough to win the A final despite the carts which could be described as somewhat variable,I wonder if they had enough running carts left for the group that came in after us?

My mate was also a bit peeved he reckoned he came second in the A final but they gave him third prize He,He

It would be great to organise an event at Warrington.I went there a few months ago(I won that too ) and the track was superb especially the flyover and all the carts felt brand new, they also had cats fitted so the fumes didn't build up(they didn't seem to slow the carts down)
Its more expensive there but its well worth the extra IMHO

Andy

In a non contact sport they wouldn't need those dark flags just don't take a scoob out in front of him!

Pleased u had a good day and collected a nice trophy. If the query over positions had been raised I would have checked. During the evening it was necessary to question one or two decisions and if your mate had raised his concerns I would have sought clarification.

B

Hi efiniste.

Were you in front of an Alfa GTV just before the M60 junction?

I thought the car looked familar (I did the Evo run up the Cat 'n' Fiddle and Snake Pass the other month).

Hi Steve and ChrisB,

Yep that was me in front of the Alfa, just went past you lot as you pulled back into the traffic, did you all stop for something?

Steve, I didn't want to mention the superiority of my motor as i feel i may be in the minority on this (or any!) forum.;-) I'm a bit surprised no-one else has had a go though!

Any more meets/karting in the offing, I wouldn't mind tagging along for the next one. That's if you'll have a foreigner along:-)))

No prejudice here, we already have our complement of refuges. Fact is we can't afford to be choosey, Dreamweaver & Bob T are testimony to that

We just pulled in to regroup after the lights.
I'd noticed Mellow had allowed a space of 18" between cars an was concerned a cyclist frustrated by the delay may atempt to charge through the gap.

TM Good to see u on the bbs & the track, are you coming to play with the big boys at Warrington?

I was too polite to mention why I couldn't avoid bumping your rear. Mellow being less of a gentleman obviously provided the explanation.

Mellow need a name change then, how about 8teen

Big boys at Warrington hey Banshi? Does that mean everyone under 16 stone has to go on a strict Pie diet to remove the weight advantage?

Glad you enjoyed it TM - I haven't seen many people manage to shut Mellow up like you did at Karims
