No mate I gave up with French at school so no chance of Japanese, but you don't need to speak the lingo to work out which way they go by looking at the big exploded diagram on the back

I've had mine fitted for a little while now, and they have just touched the top of the inside bit of the wing and marked it, so be aware that you need to get the bracket on the bonnet as far inwards as possible, i've now turned them around so that the body of the strut is fixed to the car, and the bonnet seems to fly up, so much so that i have to guide it up, no way could you let go of it.... it'd bend!! and thats on a steely....

Angry Is it just me ????????????????

Got mine this morning........looking at the pictures on this thread the classic struts seem to be different to the new age struts can anyone else confirm this ?

Secondly may be its just me but I cannot get the strut ends onto the bolts on the wing and the bonnet...............no matter how hard I push........I'm worried I'm going to break them..........I've taken the pins out before anyone asks! did anyone fitting these to a classic have such a problem......I thought this was going to take fifteen minutes........and hour later still not fitted.

HELP

Trust me mate, I was worried aswell. Just a bit of brute force and ignorance.
Try pushing them on at an angle probably best to do the wing bolt first then tap the bonnet end onto the bracket as required. Took me about 30 mins to fit my classic ones.

Hope I've helped.

I had the same problem on my carbon bonnet. I attached the dampners but when i came to shut the bonnet it would not go. I oiled up the dmpners and braced the bonnet with two mates, and then very slowly closed it. Once it had fully compressed it was fine. I think there just a bit stiff is all.

Talking 6FT 5IN 18 stone........and now sweating

Thankyou everyone for your comments
Yes after a bit more of a brutal assault they finally went on !!!!!!!

Then, as I have an ally bonnet I thought I am not pulling down from the front, as I can guarantee it will bend in half, so at eight o'clock last night I was in my garage................bonnet up.............thinking, I need my car for work at five thirty this morning what do I do if they won't close !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how stupid must I have looked to my neighbours who may have been passing...................head and shoulders into engine bay, left hand on bonnet just above the strut, right hand on right of bonnet, just above the strut....................doing my Jesus impression...........and I start trying to pull my bonnet down. finally after a little bouncing it closes.............thank f*ck for that
