Jumbomechanic - do you mean you have NEVER recieved ANY of my e-mails about this. Did you transfer money to Andy99Turbo and recieve nothing in return. If both conditions are true - PM me ASAP.

You'll see why in the next post.

Hatfield police have interviewed Andy99Turbo (Mr Andy Canon) regrding this matter and an assurance was given that I would be refunded in full the amount transferred, as the goods were never delivered to me.

Despite having a full statement from myself supported by e-mail trails as evidence the Detective who interviewed Mr Canon concluded that while Mr Canon may be a disorganised businessman, he was of the opinion that there was no intent to decieve anyone. You or I may have a different viewpoint but that is the outcome of the police investigation.

Today I recieved a draft from Mr Canon's bank for the full amount, accompanied by a hand written a note that simply read 'apologies' and had Mr Canon's name and address on it. In my view this sets a precedent for those who paid Mr Canon in good faith and recieved nothing.

Many of you gave permission to have your name and addresses forwarded to the police at hatfield. The Detecitve Sergeant who interviewed Mr Canon is on leave until Thursday. I will speak to him then to establish the position regarding the rest of you who remain out of pocket.

For the benefit of any one has ever contemplated deliberately setting out to decieve the members of this board, bear something in mind - there are many intelligent, resourceful, professional, well connected people on here who happen to have a passion for japanese performance cars. We are prepared to co-operate, share information and make time to locate you. When we do you can expect to face the consequences for your actions. We have a preference to use brainpower over brute force - and several agencies and entities were most co-operative in helping take this forward. Trust me - if you are an intelligent thief - you'll ply your trade elsewhere....

Hi TT, could you PM me any contact details for the police in Hatfield as it sounds like they take this sort of thing seriously. As I mentioned I have also been ripped off by someone in this area (spooky!) and would like them to investigate.

Cheers,
Jamie

Guys,

I am still actively pursuing this on your behalf. I have left several voicemail messages for the DS who contacted me and on the answering machine at Beat Crimes. To date I have had no response.

I have literally just called and left another message.

Thanks for the update - looks like there are still some outstanding actions required from Mr Canon. Can you confirm that you have reported your 'losses' to Hatfield police. Just wondering if they can take on third party reports of crime without first hand evidence or statements, although they have the names and addresses of most of youso they could have made initial contact with you. I will continue to chase the police for a response.

Just off the phone with Hatfield police - the Detective heading this up gets more time off work than I do - he's just back of Christmas leave today!!!!

I have explained to him that with my statement I supplied the names and contact details for a number of others who had made payment and not recieved goods. As I had been refunded in full the amount paid to Mr Canon, in my view a precedent had now been set and the persons on the list should also have recieved a refund.

The detective went on to explain that, when Mr Canon was brought in for interview he brought with him a large box of paperwork which was most disorganised - Mr Canon's admin it seems has overtaken him, the police hold the same line as before, he is not deliberatly trying to deceive buyers, but his business is a shambles therefore orders dont get shipped. I acknowledge that he doesn't seem to have any admin troubles when it comes to banking the cheques - but I am only relaying the officers comments.

His advice was that each of you need to write to Mr Canon using recorded delivery. Explain to him that you paid £X for the supply of intercooler spray kits and did not recieve the items. You should make reference to the interview with Hatfield police and request that you are fully refunded what you are owed. Point out to him that should he fail to comply with this request you will have no option but to take the matter up with the police and pursue him through the courts. The Detective has assured me that he will pay up, as one person (from what I can gather its not related to this 'for sale' item) has already taken this approach with him and recieved their refund.

I will e-mail each of you tonight with further details - as I dont think it is appropriate to post personal details of the officers involved on a public forum.

Regards,
TT

The guy is running a business according to the cops at Hatfield therefore he is bound by the distance selling legislation and sale of goods act.

5cby - suggest you and any other unhappy customers follow the advice above also.

Just dropped in for a look at this thread to see if anyone else had any luck with obtaining a refund.

I can either post up the name and contact details for the cop who interviewed Mr Canon or I can contact him on your behalf.

I am all over the place these days so dont be on SN as often, feel free to PM or email me if you want me to make some calls.

Following a copule of PM's I have been back on to the cops about this.

The D/S who adviced that you should write recorded delivery to Mr Canon was on a rest day, but will call me back tomorrow. One of the constables advised that you should repeat the exercise but I commented that Mr Canon has used up all his chances long ago.

The cops have my mobile number and should get bcak to me in the next day or two.

Meanwhile the details are as follows should anyone want to deal with the police directly.

Detective Sergeant Ken Townsend
Tel - 01707 638258
Quote Crime Ref - B1/05/4009

Will update when I get a response from the police.
