Well you laugh at this then. MrsD's MX-5, being a UK car and the last of the Mk1s, comes with Mk2 style seats. I've had to invest in a pair of earlier leather chairs (which she wanted anyway) in order to fit the speakers:doh:

The homologation specials, Familia GT-æ, were equivalents of the Mistubishi RS EVO's and STi RA, stripped out and lightweight road cars ready to be prepped for rally.
AWD with viscous diffs front and rear, forged engine, roller bearing turbo all as standard.
The GT-R is the closest to this, as above but with aircon, electric windows etc etc to make it a real road car.
The GT-X is the same engine but a lower spec non roller bearing turbo, different front bumper and no front diff(not sure on the diff with this one).
Seriously thinking of the GT-R as a next car, only thing that puts me off is parts availability.
They respond very well to stage one mods I hear as they are very restricted as standard.

So long as you approach the job methodically and label all your wires as you go you'll soon have it done. I find that making notes and diagrams as I go along helps at the diagnostic stage too

I have a decent diagram for it, its also the cost thats annoying. Need to buy all the wire, crimp tools, TPS, Tacho drive unit, Air sensor etc. That little lot is about £300, thats after the £700 ECU
So its the cost thats stopping me from ordering everything really, but in for a penny and all that

Some good ideas there.
R5T? Had two - blew two engines, quick when they are running, shame that's only 10% of the time!
MX5? I'm not a hairdresser.
Coke and Prossys? Better idea than an MX5
We are actually going for a Seat Ibiza Cupra R - managed to find a very good one, over the budget, but budgets are there for breaking

If you want something really fun get a Charade GTti, and buy the following
downpipe and Camskill exhaust. ITG induction kit, Jacobs coil from demon tweakes, magnecor leads, front polybushes and braided lines, dawes device, boost gauge. Might need to sort the suspension with a set of KYB shocks.
Slap that lot together and have a bloody quick car that will make you grin from ear to ears. Looks and sounds mad !
I know I have 3 of them. See the most recent edition of Retro Cars magazine or www.gttioc.co.uk

A phase 2 Renault 21 Turbo - Great fun if you can find a good one, should have a little money left for some tuning parts too. Also cheap to insure on a classic policy

This is what we got. Managed to get hold of an immaculate example of an R.
Standard 'R' Spec, with only 18k miles, FSSH, uprated SEAT sport suspension kit fitted, Pillar-mounted boost guage, and Miltek Full System.
Handles and brakes as good as any 2wd drive car i've driven - set up very very well, and I think it's pushing close to 200.
I await my 1st Scooby kill (only trying in the dry though)
