Dizzy,

I'm also 24, and Tescos gave the best quote I got - the same as my renewal (from Privilege), but with £200 less excess!

Only a couple of months until I'm 25, and I've already noticed the insurance dropping...

Cool

I've just renewed with Tesco's and what a saving :-

Current insurers Performance direct quoted £1540!! Increased from £830 last year on a MY97 Turbo (£350 excess)

Tescos quoted £760 (£250 excess), this is without a tracker on a MY01 WRX.
This covers me (33 years old, 6 yr no claims + 1 accident) and the wife (30 years old) and class 1 business use.

A word of warning about getting an on-line quote from Tesco's:

I have just received my insurance details from Tesco's this morning. On the website, I entered a total excess of £250. On the insurance details it quotes an excess of £250 PLUS a young-drivers excess of £250 . This is not identified anywhere on their website. I'm lucky I'm not under 21 - the additional excess would have been £400!!.

Oh well - in a couple of months I will be 25, so the additional excess will disappear. I hope I don't need to claim before my birthday!

Daniel

I rang tescos for a quote and am thinking about getting the PPP at some point. How do you go about explaining the prodrive upgrade? Do you have to specify the individual mods? I would have thought they would know about this since it is endorsed by subaru? The chap i spoke to didn't really know what i was talking about.

Cheers

Paul

oh yes Tesco's are the best. I managed to get my MY98, with CAT1 & tracker & disklok, garaged in Reading for £1200. Not bad considering I have 3yrs NCB, and am 24. My exisitng insurer...Greenlight wanted over 2 grand - muppets!
