At 25 you are not, and never will be anymore a young adult- which is why it's the point at which insurance premiums start to become affordable.

Back on topic, commiserations with the loss of the car.

Of course, Rioja, we all make assumptions based on limited information.

1st is that as there appears to be no third part involed then by definition it must be Tyrone Melody's fault. Too easy.

We all now from our own experiences that Scoobs stick to road like glue. Rather than point the finger and add 2 + 2 = driver error, it may be useful to exercise a brain cell and then to ask a few questions which may help to clarify:
    2nd is that he is only worried about his uninsured loss. Twoddle. It is NORMAL following a traumatic event to think about relatively unimportant issues. This is a self protection mechanism we all use to stop us thinking too long / deeply about possibly difficult issues - undoubtedly Tyrone Melody has been faced with his own mortality and that is not a nice place to be at any age. So yes, entirely reasonable to share with us those thoughts.

    3rd following a traumatic event most people do not have the ability to think coherently and prioritise what's important and what isn't. What certainly isn't a priority for him was to get on SN and tell it how he saw it, when he was vulnerable. No one likes being caught with their kecks down and in the abscence of clear facts this is still a possibility for him. Fair play to him though, he did share his story with us.

    4th it isn't immoral or against the law to drive with TPFT insurance. Life is not risk free. It's all about risk assessment. Tyrone Melody assessed his own risk and bought his insurance lawfully. do you not think that is a gamble that he lost and that he has to live with everyday? Rioja, I assume you do not smoke, drink alcohol, eat saturated fats in any form, and that you do exercise daily? Of course you may do all or none of these things which will be a calculated risk assessment for you of percieved benefit V risk of ill health. Your choice. just like it was Tyrone's choice

    Back on topic, Tyrone Melody, glad to hear you are OK, but sad to hear about the scoob.

    i ride quads and moto x in which crashing/falling off is a fairly regular occurance, the sign of a bad off is when, your not trying to find out how bad the bike is. its all relative, if you or someone else is hurt bad thats the worst out come of a crash, so the bike / car doesn't matter but if all are ok the worst thing is whats the damage? how much as it cost me?

    he wasn't hurt.

    in a recent police speed trap through a 30 mph village in these parts, the majority of busted drivers where the over 60 brigade. its not just us young (is 27 still young??) drivers speeding.

    Sorry guys, I have made many assumptions in my posts, and some comments I should have kept to myself. I have learnt my lesson and will try not to do it again
    {hangs head in shame}

    Tyrone, I really am glad that your OK.
