Before my first Scoob I had a Power Engineering tubo'd 2ltr Mondeo with 200bhp but that was rare - there were only six converted I believe.
The last pages have been BAD news. Glad me and Chris went home in the other direction!

PS For a really good deal on a set of 225/40-18 Toyo T1s with perfect pattern 6mm tread, go to the for sale site.

Firstly, drivers licence & insurance checks can now be done at the side of the road. MOT checks will be going the same way very shortly, once the computerised MOT system goes live. I don't know how old Betts' car is, maybe it doesn't need an MOT at present. Hence, thats the reason why a producer wasn't issued
Secondly, if you are told that you are 'going to be reported for the question to be considered whether you are going to be prosectuted for ..... (whatever offence), there is no need for a Notice of Intended Prosecution (N.I.P) to be issued. An NIP will normally only be sent if you're not actually stopped (I.e Gatso, SPEC's etc). It will also be used if you are involved in a very minor accident. By the sound of things everyhing was done by the book on Thursday night.

Is it actually `illegal` to have a flamer going on the roads, what are the laws that are being broken?

As I understand the law, using flamers on a public road is illegal, especially at night as it scares the **** out of unaware motorists.
Possibilities:
Public nuisance??
Driving an unroad worthy vehicle?????
disturbing the peace??
I don't know the laws exactly, but they spring to mind.
I fitted a flamer to a scoob today, but told the person about Betts and Mark and let them have the choice whether they still wanted it on.
