Just saw this and I was afraid to open up this thread for fear that it was for you guys
Really sorry to hear about it Alex, hope you guys pick yourselves back up soon, can't imagine the feelings you are experiencing. Having kids opens you up to a new level of joy and hurt, when you get the flip-side you know it's all worth it though.
Best regards

LG,

Thanks, for the link, and thought.

We have already bought a Sorbus Vilmorinii (one of the Rowan family), it is one of the smaller varieties, and we have put it in a large pot in our garden. We also have one which we will plant where we scatter his ashes in Cornwall.

The following may be of interest to anyone that is grieving at present, as I said, I bought some books, and so far, by far the best is:

Words to comfort, words to heal - Poems & meditations for those that grieve
By Juliet Mabey ISBN: 1-85168-154-x

It is helping us put our feelings into words.

Thanks again to all for the kind words of support, Alex

I'm sure I speak for everyone on this forum, when I say that my thoughts will be with you on such a sad day. I attended a friends daughters funeral, 4 days old, after hospital negligence, it was a truly sad day and I can't even begin to understand how you feel, even as a parent.

As for your question...........say exactly what you feel within, no matter how disjointed it may sound, I don't believe that such details can be planned for such an occasion.

I can say this though, your life, although never to be the same, will get back on track and you will deal with each day as it's dealt to you.

Best wishes and I hope all goes as well as can be expected.

Si.

Alex and Milly,
I saw the 'tree' post and thought what a lovely idea.
Both my Nana's are buried in a 'green cemetry' up near Harwich, where a tree is planted on each grave. In a few years time, it will be a little wood, with new plants, wildlife etc. Its a lovely peaceful place to visit, which is also full of new life.

Once again, you have my best wishes.

Just wanted to wish you both all the best.

Even I feel terribly saddened by this, can't imagine how you are both feeling.

Thoughts will be with you especially on the 24th.

Alex and Milly,

we will be thinking of you - sending all our love.

David and Truda

'Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.'

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of the universe. Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't
feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make
manifest the glory of the universe that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we subconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.

But reading this thread again helped, which is why I wanted to say thanks again.

Thumbs up

Alex

I'm fine, thanks. Hope you are too. Indeed, it's been a while. It will be three years this September since Carolyn died Time flies.

On the moving on front, I met someone else a while back (who also lost her husband to cancer 5 years ago, by entire coincidence), and we got married last month

(Didn't mean to hijack your thread btw )

Yes, time does seem to pass all too quickly, was very sad to hear you news 3 years back.

Thats great news, I wish you both all the best Congratulations

That was read at a funeral I attended yesterday. Pretty much covers what anybody would want to say about somebody they care for.
