It bet they was from the Vale or Castle Bromwich. Solilhull does have it's bad
areas.
You did the right thing handing over your keys. But I suppose thats what they bank on. They'd probably crap themselves if someone stood up to them. One day they'll choose the wrong target and get themselves a kicking. Lets all hope.

Too right you did the right thing, that's the whole point of the Black jaks I guess .As said previously don't do anything too rash with the car , certainly worth beefing up the security on the front door perhaps or even a cheap cctv type thing outside the front door like this http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Main/p...ProductID=2415 so you can see who's knocking too .Next time you read that a few local ******* have been killed in a police chase just hope that its them I guess

Hope everything is fine with Mrs and baby to be

Dave

Sorry to hear about this , something I have been concerned about myself.
I don't know if this applies to you but I would consider chaging user name or location as this narrows your house down quite a lot. Hope there caught

this was always something that worried me about the ownership of such a car, imho if you rid the car they win, do what I have done, and prepair yourself!

I have cameras covering the front and rear of the house and a clear shot of the front door, put signs up stating "your on camera" (I think you have to anyway by law) I did it iniatially to prevent things like whats happened to you from happening.

my neighbours have had problems with kids scratching cars etc, it dosent happen at my house as they know there on camera! its worth thinking about anyway, I paid about £200 for the lot! if you want any advice on this feel free to pm me and I will point you in the right direction.

dont sell your car, cus then the scum of this earth gain another point over you. dont allow them to control your life!

Shocked to read this. It was only last month that I did some work on this (very nice) car. Sorry to hear about this Dave, and I hope you and your wife are OK.

Glad the BJ worked (puts my mind at a bit of ease), and sorry you're considering selling It's a shame society forces such decisions on thoroughly decent people

Sorry to hear about this - how did blackjax stop them, mine is set so the car will not start with out the code. Once it is entered and a door opened after that it will come into action. I thought in the other setting the driver needed to enter the pin to activate the system - obviously the scum would not have entered the pin and they did not need a pin to start the car. It sound as though yours is set to allow the car to start but then cut out without anyone activating it? I did not think this was possible? Sounds like a better option as gets the scum away from you/ family and immobilises the car.

I didn't realise there was 2 options. Most start a timer after a door is opened and the brake pedal touched. 30s later, if the code isn't entered it's bedlam inside and no engine

For blackjax to work this was requires a door to be opened AFTER the car is started? So in this instance if the 4 w**nkers had all got in, then started the car are you saying that the blackjax would not have stopped them?

When I collected my car, the dealer warned me about such things. He also warned me that when driving through cities, drive with my doors locked.
I personnaly thought he was talking out of his ****, but after reading this, I've changed my mind. Will deffo seriously consider having a Blackjax fitted. My dads now thinking of getting one fitted on his newly orderd RS4.

Hope this whole sorry episode does'nt put you off owning good cars.

Personnaly, if my car is ever knicked I don't want it back, cos I hope it's in a mangled mess, with the theiving scum laid dying inside of it.

Yes this is a worry for owners and seems to be happening more frequently. On reflection I'm not sure Black jax is the answer, it might stop them getting the car but it does nothing to catch the theives. Perhaps a better solution is something like tracker horizon so that if the car gets nicked and assuming you contact them quickly there must be a chance the culprits will get caught.

I'm sorry to hear about this, my heart felt sympathies to you and your family, what a terrible experience. I'm going to offer possibly an unpopular view here and suggest you get shot of the car. You and the missus have went through a traumatic experience and you really don't need the stress. Its sad that your car ownership is being dictated too by these scroates - but you've got a young 'un on the way - move the car on and return in the future.

That is truely shocking...I hope you all get over this and enjoy the immenent birth....I count myself lucky where I live as I have left the car unlocked b4 now overnight by accident...luckily tho I have a 4 legged security system that barks if so much as a car door slams anywhere on the estate where I live.

Sorry to hear about the bad news, always terrible to read when someone has had there car stolen by mindless thugs.

Theres been a few scoobys stolen near me (West Midlands) using forced entry on someones property, the bloke who lives across the road from my uncle had his door kicked down by 4 lads and a gun pointed at him demanding the keys to his brand new WRX, while his kids were in bed, The police eventually found the car a few hours later,

My security is a big German Shepeard and if you can get passed him and to the keys to my car, then you are welcome to it, Until I find you and bury you in the woods somewhere.

god what a horrible story

Sorry to hear about it mate. I only got mine 6 weeks back and Im always paranoid about these sort of things.( had an armed robbery at my family home when i was 16)
but have to agree that its a shame you have to get rid of it now. seems like they are winning.

was the car garaged??

we have our house alarm on at night covering the downstairs.

one of my neighbours does the same. Someone cut a glass panell out of a door entered the house and tripped the alarm. He fled immediately because the alarm is loud!!

Its such a shame that we have to suffer these scumbags.

People slag off middle eastern countries for being barbaric, but I think theyve got the right idea. This sort of **** doesnt happen in places like Dubai. And if it did, the *******s would get their hands or legs cut off for sure.

I don't have the words buddy.
All best wishes for you and family.
Not that i condone mindless violence, however, but i would certainly 'pay per view' to watch the father in law give these little tw@ts a right hiding with a few fellas from the pub with baseball bats!
I have felt paranoid since owning me scoob and park the missus' car touching the garage door, in gear with steering pointing the car straight into the road. Lights to front of house, multi zoned burglar alarm and german shepherd on the way!
You did the right thing, we all talk the talk 'i'd fu*$in' have 'em if they tried...' but not many walk the walk when it happens so quickly. And there are a million wonderful memories you are yet to have with a new member of the clan, but you gotta be around for it, not the long gone hero of pictures and talk. 'Chose life', cars come and go and come again, you can't come back if it goes **** up...
Don't be a stranger to the forum, it's clear there are many friends here for you.

So sorry to hear this mate. Im from the West Midlands myself, and this type of crime (e.g breaking into houses with occupants in there for keys) seems to be spiralling out of control in our area. Truly terrible

its just the type of thing the little *******s round here would do, but then they'd have to knock on my door as its not really kick in able. Have to say you did totally the right thing.

Especially with your wife in that condition... I dont know you but it makes me really pissed to think about it,

F***S me off the nerve of these to55ers, how dare they break into my home like that demanding my keys.

I wish I owned a shotgun !!

Dave, feel sorry for you (I sold it to Dave for anyone that didn't know)

Glad the blackjax I got fitted worked though.
