You do all realize that there is no such thing as "sold as seen" any more. Because people were pushing broken cars on to people knowing they were ****ed and about to brake. So "sold as seen" was stopped and you legally have to tell them about EVERYTHING you know about the car and any problems.

As long as you told the truth, advertised it with any defects you knew off, and when he asked about the engine you didnt lie about anything. You are fine. You are not in any trouble and he cant do anything.

Don't know if it applies to blowing an engine by seeing 'what it'll do'

My brother did the same with his 120d - filled it with 45 litres of finest unleaded. BMW wanted £750 to sort it out. Elephant.co.uk paid for it after a "discussion" centring on the fact it was an accident. Elephant did try to fob him off with "it was your fault", but he pointed out that he could go and drive it into a wall and it would be "his fault" but they'd still pay up for that. He did lose his no claims (only a year's) and had to pay the excess. Oddly, they even sent out an assessor - maybe to sniff the fuel just to make sure it really was petrol!

Colleague's cambelt went on his Renault Megane, he claimed on insurance and they wrote the car off (belt wasn't overdue).
