Would like to come but might be a last minute decision, used up quite a few day out passes recently on other things

Not sure if the wife will let me out for this. Although we're going out on saturday for lunch so that should score some brownie points....but that said it is to a scooby meet

If anyone's interested, there's talk of a group buy for engine & gearbox mounts. I and a couple of others suspect it's replacement time

I first noticed it when my car was on rollers. The amount of movement between power on/off was quite alarming, no wonder a couple of quite vital vac tubes were being worn through. The reason for the tube failure wasn't apparent when just looking under the bonnet.

If you watch the engine jump about during Sunday's run, maybe a few others will want to be added.

Cheers

Hi All
Just a few notes for you ref Sunday

It is supposed to be hot so remember sunblock & hats etc.
Small children need to be supervised as cars will be moving around
Fill your intercooler spray bottles
Optimax will give best results on the day
Remember to bring a good supply of liquids & food Mc D is just down the road

Upon arrival at Silverstone main gate, proceed forward until 1st roundabout [Audi in glass case] turn right [3rd exit] proceed straight ahead through two swing gates, turn at bottom and form up. Come into the workshops and look for WRC personnell [in WRC white/blue shirts] then sign on.
Please remember to bring cash, £35 or £30 is the agreed amount for the number of cars running. If possible please try and have the correct amount.

I hope you have a good day and enjoy your visit to WRC

The trophy will be given to the car with the biggest overall figure by adding BHP & Torque excluding Nos

If you have any problems or question just post them and I will get back to you a.s.a.p.

If you want to see me on the day I have the UK300 with big brakes and a big big scoop

Urbanmyth (Mark)

Going by what happened last time I was at WRC:

There's a big area inside for spectating and an excellent burger van was laid on.
Is the burger van not showing up to this one? He'll be rather disappointed if everyone goes self catering and he does do good grub.

i think i shoudl be allowed to include nos....given that a few people will have 2.5s and will just run away with it over us 2.0s!!

i still wouldnt win anyway even with the nos....! the bottle is filled and waiting though anyway cant wait!

Nah! NOS = no fair! What bhp / torque do you reckon you have currently (no nos)?

2.5's pah, bring em on!

300 tops....so im not exactly a threat even with it (will be using 45hp jets....) this the torque "should" be around the 290lbft mark buti really dont know anymore ever since the disasterous surrey RR a few months back!

2.5s with nos is just plain rude!

What will the NOS give you on top of 300bhp?

How much did it all cost?

no idea what it will give....all i have to go on is that im using a 45hp jet...so id guess at around 45hp....

according to a caluclator the predicted gain is 46hp and 39.1hp at the wheels. Although it will vary from car to car.

Ill tell you how much it was on sunday, but it was a lot less than perhaps your thinking !

Nos is worth double the rating on the jets with a turbo car, so 45hp jets should equal 90bhp It'll be interesting to ee that's for sure.

Nos has many benefits on a turbo mota; it cools the charge and thus defends against det so you can make more power.

You must get the fueling right though or it'll go pop - Neil knows this I'm sure.

Will be in the area in the afternoon, visiting a mate. Would love to pop in a have a look. If you need one more car to bring the total number to 30 then I could be up for it. Only thing is, I'll have the wife and baby in tow, so won't be able to hang around for long.

Either way, I'll pop in and say hello.

Some comparative figures for mid way testing would be cool for me.

P.S. Comparing peak figures is a waste of time..... better to compare figures over the whole rev range, as this makes for the better and faster car on the road..... maybe I would have a chance then!

Regards,
Shaun.

Im not sure where youve got the double the power from jets floyd as thats certainly not what im expecting.....pretty sure the result wont be anywhere near 400!! the fuel jet is matched to the nos jet so the fuelling should be ok....

Ok Boy and Girls

Looking at the weather it is going to be hot so sun block and liquid

We are starting at 9:00 to 9:30. Please try and get there for then and get you name down. We will be running first come first served. Chris & Alan will do an introduction and tell you about the RR and what they will be doing for the day. If you a RR virgin then I would suggest you try and get the for this ( I do appreciate some Scooby will be travailing).

Now the bad part I will not be brining by Scooby as it has developed a problem. The turbo is whining like a cat on heat. But I will be there in my big blue pickup with Urbanmyth sign written all over it.

Look forward to seeing you all hope you have fun this really is the best RR around and very accurate so any excuses must be really really good.

Any problem please post them and I will get back to you a.s.a.p

I will be logging on later so any last minuet problems or questions I will try and answer then.

HAVE FUN

Mark

Spec'c'57,

Well I achieved a fairly modest (lol ) figure on Friday with 31deg's ambient measured in the dyno cell I was running at, after 4 hours on the dyno (I think the engine may of been in melt down mode). Not at all interested in what figures I actually get out right as I am no where near finished, but just interested in a comparison between rolling roads. Who knows what a single or couple of runs at a different venue, with a relatively cool engine will provide.

Regards,
Shaun.
