Food for thought:

"A smouldering cigarette end started the fire in the Mont Blanc tunnel which killed 39 people last year, the newspaper Le Parisien reported yesterday...
The cigarette end, thrown from another vehicle, entered the lorry's air intake, setting fire to the air filter and then the entire engine..."

I'm all for equality and that, but this is CLEARLY a wind-up. Still, we don't have GR to rip it out of so let's perpetuate the whole JeffS thing and rip it out of him instead.

RB5 Paul I'm keeping a very special welcome for you, that is if you have the ***** to come.

Your going to greet me with a cold can of pimms and some *** cream?

What a special welcome that would be

Lighten up dude, can't you take a joke?

I never knew gays didn't have a sense of humour but that would explain the treading on eggshells round them so you don't get sued for homophobic discrimination

streetbeck you don't understand do you? The only person looking *stoopid* here is yourself and slowboy your little helper.

Getting back on the subject in hand there have been some good points here, the megane driver could easily have started a fire by his careless discarding of his cigarette. Thankfully I was on hand to deliver it back to where it could do least harm.

No you shut it clown (please feel free to add another no YOU shut it clown in your reply). The best course of action was to return it from where it came

As I didn't throw it in his face I can't see how it would have ended up in his eye. He didn't give a toss where it landed when he flicked it out. At least I knew it was going back where it belonged.

Where is the thread with a lot of SNers complaining about *** butts being thrown out of car windows? My memory may be failing me, but i think a lot of people said they would throw it back into the car if they got the chance!

Somebody posted a link to it earlier in this discussion. Seemed to be full of idiots arguing the toss over nothing from what I read.

Better to give them a recipe and let them feed themself:

Asparagus, horseradish and Parmesan tart
Preparation time less than 30 mins
Cooking time 30 mins to 1 hour

Ingredients
500g/1lb 1½oz asparagus spears
1 x 375g/13¼oz pack of ready-rolled puff pastry
beaten egg, for brushing
200g/7¼oz crème fraîche
4 egg yolks
1 tbsp finely chopped chives
2 tbsp strong horseradish
100ml/3½oz double cream
sea salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan

Method
1. Clean the asparagus and trim any white ends and peel, if necessary, with a vegetable peeler.
2. Remove the pastry from the fridge 10 minutes before use.
3. Preheat the oven to 220C/425F/Gas 7.
4. Unroll the pastry and place on a baking sheet.
5. Take a sharp knife and, with the point, score a line round the pastry about 1cm/½in inside the edge without cutting all the way through. Lightly ***** inside the rectangle with a fork and brush the edges with a little beaten egg.
6. Lay the asparagus in a neat line, all the tips facing the same way, inside the border of the pastry.
7. Mix together the crème fraîche, egg yolks, chives, horseradish and cream. Season and spread over the asparagus tart and sprinkle with the Parmesan.
8. Place in the oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and cooked (turn the oven down to 190C/375F/Gas 5 if the pastry is beginning to brown too much).
9. Serve with a tomato, basil and rocket salad.

Thanks for the recipe but to be honest it sounds like ****e. Back on topic I see that nobody has come up with a viable solution other than to return the cigarette from where it came.

Unfortunately that would leave the criminal in question unpunished and unchastised. Never mind natural justice.

Interesting that people seem to think a ciggie but being thrown in a car will somehow cause a massive fire. A bad burn in one of the seats is probably the worst outcome, assuming the driver has a sense of smell and isn't Darwin Award stupid. Also assuming the Megane driver didn't have some open vats of petroluem sloshing about in the car.

JeffS, troll or not, you've certainly reeled in a lot of people...
