I once had a guy flick his lit cigarette deliberately into my (roof down) MX5 just because he was driving a milk float and I had seen fit to pass him (Safely and without any gesturing I might add) a couple of miles earlier. I was turning right and was in a filter lane, as he drove past me on the inside to go straight on he flicked in the ciggy. Luckily I saw him do it and no harm was done.
Had he not been considerably bigger than me and with a mate I would have hunted him down and ripped his f*****g head off.
Seems to me throwing a lit cigarette into someones car is a catalyst for a very very serious reaction.
I'd never do anything like that because I know how much it enraged me at the time, you are probably very lucky he did not realise what you had done as no doubt, a fight would ensue 9 times out of 10.
The guy was very careless to hit you and this is wrong but your reaction imho was WAY OTT.
My reaction would have been to loudly confront the guy and shake him up a bit, surely a more fitting punishment for his crime.
If he did it on purpose however, thats a different matter.
2pence for you.

Trolls are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. They cannot be made to feel remorse. For some reason, trolls do not feel they are bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility.

I don't care what your orientation is and neither should anyone else. Being a slag though, tricky one!
Really this isn't a matter for levity the douchebag could have scarred my lovely legs or worse thrown his burning rubbish into whatever bad situation you can imagine. The point is he just didn't care where it went, ciggie out of the window, end of story as far as he was concerned. Except this time he got it back.

So he chucked a *** but from a moving car all the way across the road onto the pavement ? Then you ran up and threw it throught the driverside window and he diddn't notice ? Sounds like bull**** to me.

I think the point is, why did he feel the need to flick it out of the window where it could hit someone/something flammable when there is more than likely a perfectly good ashtray in the car.
I've seen fields of dry grass turned black because someone wanted their cigarette butt out of the car. Was that acceptable? I don't think so.
JeffS reactions could be considered harsh, but if the driver hadn't littered (a burning stick), there would have been no recourse.

I don't like this and then it occurs to me he has his window open and he's stopped at the lights. Quick as a flash I pick it up and run towards him. He notices me doing this as I arrive and I say look at that and point to his passenger side. At this I sieze the moment and say "you dropped this" and fling it into his car. The lights then change and obviously still wondering what I'm talking about he drives away.
Hope his car set on fire.

Were you driving the Megane streetbeck? I'm pretty sure it wasn't done on purpose either, he just didn't care about anyone except himself.
He did notice me run upto him as well which is why I said 'look at that' and pointed across the car.

LOL @ JeffS - You're so cool - I would like to subscribe to your newsletter
I can't stop laughing at thought of the mincing pansy wiggling down the road after a car and throwing the sig (underarm) into that car
Fella if that had been my car I too (like a previous contributor) would have attacked you with fists and iron bar. Your Vivien Westwood pink pants covered in ash and clarett would be some compensation for any damage to my vehicle upholstery...

Your iron bar talk is just that, all talk. The empty words of frightened little men who have to carry tools round in their cars to feel safe. Pathetic.

Hmmmmm must admit i did not notice the small post amount, which would indicate a faker.
If it is a fake, then its a goodun cos some of the responses have been funny, mostly mine though
But if its not fake, you should visit a burns ward in a hospital, then see if all over burns would be a fitting punishment for littering.
Just for the hell of it

When youve been ripped out of your car outside a pub by 4 pissed up yobs who decided they wanted a go ( when your 17), you may also afford yourself a little protection.
And all talk, i think not. maybe you will vandalise my car one day, then you will find out.

Cookstar I don't think your little stick or whatever you like to hold onto to make you feel less scared is going to help you against 4 attackers. I think a spell in counselling might help you to face upto your demons more effectively.
I don't vandalise cars as a rule either so unless you throw some sort of incendiary at me I doubt we'd go down that road.
