Angry what i saw at japfest

some man being abusive towards my nephew(who is not a chav as he works every night to earn money to keep his family well looked after and does not own 1 soveregin ring)who incidentally got kicked by my THAT CHILD (who is my daughter) and moved back at the wrong time so really it was my daughters fault so should a 16 month old baby be praying ?

this man also was running my husband down for taking my daughters pram out of our car! (are prams not allowed?)it is ver hard having a child at an event like that and we were doing our best

i can see both sides of it ,but, maybe should of been dealt with better we were all sandwiched together ,nobody wants upset just a nice day out i was a little angry cos my daughter was there and just didn't want her to see that also you can't say a bad thing against people you don't know

had a great day though some stunning cars from all the clubs was so good seeing so many cars on the track some good trade stands was worth the drive

Its interesting the way others see an event, I thought he was restrained telling him off at the time as I said earlier, perhaps a little upset at what he saw, but attitude came out on the thread with a little bravado.

Its never a good thing to stereo type people.

i agree paul stereotyping is not a good thing really and i can understand why he was upset but it genuinely wan't intentional was a genuine accident through my daughter getting tired and upset kicking i am sure anyone with children knows how moody they can be at that age

i can see both sides of the story i truely can just felt offended as my nephew works so hard and had come to japfest literally straight from work he is far from being a chav and i was a bit offended at my daughter being called "that child " just seemed a little unnecessary thats all

hope everyone had a good time and hope to see everyone next year

That Driftworks Nissan was awesome!! Wish i could handle mine like that..... got some short video clips of him 'drifting', will try to post them. You'll need "Quicktime" player to watch (or WMP 10). Nice spin for Sidhead in his S2000, lucky that red Scoob wasn't too close........ All in all a good day despite the rain. Next stop, SBO!!

For me, the track was a grey evo "doing Tiff Needel" style, truely awsome. Off the track i loved the black scoob with the yellow stripe "patrol" on it - excellent. I was parked opposite a 22b, first time ive seen one in the flesh - very nice, but i think i heard a bloke say its only got 10k on the clock!. Lessons for next year, leave earlier and pray theres more trade stands, bring a brolly

Was that a LANCER with a similar looking number plate by any chance.

Shame I got stuck behind him. :
The video camera kept drooping and looking at the carpet. would have had some cracking footage of that otherwise.

You still beat me in my Type R though Tony.

You started several cars behind me on the same session, and passed me somewhere jbetween the two chicanes! In my defence it was the first time i'd ever seen the circuit and had no idea where I was going.

I started getting pretty good after 3 or 4 laps though, and by then I'd been left behind by the pack so I had the track to myself.

Oh, and I've found that STI 4 pot calipers are perfectly adequate on the road but utterly pants on the track. I had really bad 'pedal to the floor' brake fade moment going into the first chicane on lap 3, but I backed off for half a lap and they were ok again after that - if a bit more spongey than usual.

i think next year jap fest might have to put the poxy amount of stands where the sidc stand was, and we take over the main arena like some one else said ermm think a scoob fest would be a good ideia seeing as turn out of peaple and the number of scoobs. dont know if that lot made any sense!!!!!!!! head like a bear with a sore **** this morning.

I found my 4 pots OK on the track, but were glazed and hardly worked after cooling I have a set of Brembo's for it. biggest problem i had was grip 16" with Goodyears I think could have done with 5-10psi more. Going to get a nice set of 17" with Brigdestone RE050 or 70's.

You did exactlty right, go slowly and then build up Castle Coombe can be a very unforgiving if you don't repect it You ought to Try Bedford Autodrome probably one of the safest Tracks around IMHO

You don't want RE070s if you're going to do track days in the wet - the difference between wet and dry grip is huge. When mine are worn out I'll be changing them for tyres with more consistent performance across weather conditions, I don't like being caught out when it gets damp.

I decided not to go with the 'cheap and trendy' option of Toyo's, went with Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions and they were great. No problems with grip whatsoever.

Yeah I think my pads are glazed too now, much less bite than before I went on the track...

Yup mine are glazed too, lasted up ok on the track tho. Gonna get the fronts changed if they don't improve over the next few days.

Let's hope next year certain people listen to the part of the breifing where letting faster cars past is dicussed! They said if a car is in your mirrors consistently let off on the straight let them past. I was stuck for 5 laps. Eventually chucked it out of chicane but they kept foot down and i was offline for camp and nearly did a "Tony Walls" Pants changed now

I also found the stands poor. When i finally found something to consider the wind blew the stand away LOL.

Forester STI was awsome!

That's exactly what happened to me. And it was on the same session as you, right behind you as we left the pits. It was a silver new shape WRX that did it to me, there was hardly any space to pass as he was keeping in the middle of the track.

I was struggling because although i was hella faster (more comitted/insane?? lol) round and out of the corners he had the torque to hold me off till about 80 when i reeled back in. Still had a good laugh, was my first time on Combe - just glad it had dried off somewhat by our session!

Toyo T1S for the wet T1R's for the dry
Track work I'd be looking for something a little more specialised like R888's

On a side note the REO70's are quite good in wet weather, it's standing water they don't like at all.
I havn't actually seen a worn out set yet.

Personally, I would'nt care less if he was holding a child or not (surely that's another lot of weight denting your bodywork?), he would have heard certain choice words from me.
No respect, I was watching like a hawk yesterday when my car was in the SIDC club stand. So many people, esp those who are shall we say on the large side, will insist on squeezing between cars, when a gap really is'nt there.

I was'nt gonna stand there all day though, I had better things to do.

PS - If my other half saw anyone sat on the car I probably would have to hold on to him

I was in a dry session with mostly Evos (12.40) and I had a line of em not moving over to start with.
But to be honest there is a lot to think about if you are a first timer out there, you can't think of it all and for some, looking in the mirror is one of the things that had to give.
