I have spoke to a man from subaru and their is no advantage insurance wise of getting this over a wrx ppp, they are still fit after registration etc. so thinking about it where are the advantages of this model over a wrx with free ppp? apart from seats? a gear **** n fog covers?

Is this really the best subaru can come up with for a limited edition car!. Looks like a WRX wanting to be an sti. At least the two models now have their own identity. To me the gold wheels just dont look right without everything else.

Ok, so it is just a marketing ploy to shift stock, but I don't think Subaru is alone on this!
Maybe they should have done it in a different colour I.e one not available on either standard car, which would differenciate it form everything else. (bit like the WR1)

Silver suits the car much more with those better but still dominant headlamps
a free PPP is nice but it makes insurance harder to find that tracker will help though.
SL has much nicer leather seats anyway for the same money.
but most important have they sorted those p0xy brakes ?

Is so far proving difficult to insure as a WRX300 as no insurer seems to be aware of its existence - including all the supposed specialists. I ordered one at weekend and ended up insuring it today as a WRX with PPP but fortunately got it at a decent price.
Once the insurers catch up though, I would have hoped that it should hold good residuals bearing in mind that PPP is standard and should not be classed as a mod as per WR1
After a dicussion with Tom at Subaru Insure, he has confirmed that even when their quote engine is updated, they still would be very unlikely to offer cover on this model for drivers under 28 - so check before you order. Incidentally, dealer offered it for £20750 without even being asked for a discount.

That steering wheel looks sooo much better than my 02WRX wheel. Wonder if Subaru will be selling them as parts, quite fancy one of those.

When first I phoned up they didnt even know what it was let alone be in prepared to insure it.
As I said, provided you are over 28, I am sure SU will be abe to assist, otherwise try A-Plan who offered me this car for around £800 ag 26, full no claims, live in high risk area etc
