OK, our guide has let us down, so I will endeavour to get us to the Floutch Roundabout to rendezvous with the S. Yorks guys. After that, hopefully they will lead us down to Ladybower over the most interesting route.

I'm not jealous or anything.. but I hope you had a great run and evening.. Sorry I couldn't be with you.. but I had a few beers on me own and prayed to the gods of empty dry roads and no other cars apart from flying sccobs..
See you next Thursday..

Well peed off that I had to miss this one guys...
As I mentioned to Dave, Al, Gary, Dai, Sticky and Cheesy on the phone, had to finish some urgent electrical cr*p on new property. Blame Mr Ikea's comprehensive wiring diagrams - not compatible with mid-70s town houses.....

Sounds like Dave did you all proud with the directions. Next time, Sticky & I will lead on our bikes.

See you all next Thursday, some before....

PS. If it's any consolation, I didn't electrocute myself....

Great run
Apologies for the odd wrong turn upto meeting Cheesy and Co.
I had to rather hastily knock up some directions and hope that they would make sense
Some of the group managed to get lost on the straight run with no turns over Strines
and I'm sure someone didn't make it (apart from the guy with the fading brakes) but I don't know who. Brilliant that so many newbies joined us, even if we did scare you witless
Thanks to Cheesy for popping along with a few mates, we must do it again sometime, now I can keep up with you
Hope to see many of you next week at the TP

Bloody brilliant

What fantastic roads, we ARE definitely doing that again
The group got a bit split on the way back unfortunately, 2 of the group got stuck in traffic as we left the pub so waited at the left turn for em and the rest of ya all buggered off up the road
However Dave was replaced by an equally fearless guide in the shape of a local in an Isuzu Trooper
and I'm tellin ya this guy would have given you a run for ya money Dave, he was bloody mental, I lost ground to him on a couple of corners
We then got stuck behind a Nissan Bluebird for a bit but Mr Isuzu wasn't having that and promptly overtook him along a stretch of pitch black road
leaving us to fend for ourselves, after bloody miles
finally got passed and then realised that meant I would have to lead, there were a few moments
but we survived
Got to a crossroad and had no idea but M1 was signposted so followed that and came on at J36, then as we were travelling up the M1 who should we spy up ahead?? Andy
Excellent night

Excellent night

There's always one who'll pass you at any speed

Went sown Rivelin Valley and was followed for a while by a set of lights that eventually turned into a roar as a chav 306 with drainpipe exhaust charged past - wasn't rising to the bait and it was just before the cameras...
Next time were down there I'll set off a bit later - by the time the crowd turned up I'd been sat there just shy of an hour - thought you lot drove quick?
Cheers Dave. Had an absolutely fantastic night last night, great to see what the Scooby can really do when it gets away from the confines of the metropolis. Fantastic to see all the Scoobies in a line and glad we made those lads' day by the side of the road waving us on. I don't know if I've ever been so borderline between absolute pleasure and sheer terror! I'd be well up for doing it again! If it can't be organised I'd love your 'hastily scribbled' directions to do it all again some time! I have to confess I drove like a big girl along Strines on the way home. Thanks to all involved for making me feel welcome on my first trip out. A quality night all round. Only soured by my girlfriend telling me she'd woke up at 11 and found I wasn't there so rung me and when I didn't answer she cried herself to sleep thinking I was dead!
Note to oneself - text girlfriend when setting off home!

Dave - as to bringing the girlfriend, although she's not adverse to a bit of speed last night would definetly have been too much for her and would definetly back up her theory that I may never return from these little jaunts ;-) However, I told a mate about it and he's dying to come and also to buy a Scooby!
Glad you guy's enjoyed ya run,
sorry didnt make it,but hey
hope no-one went into the chicane's at break neck speed, bloody tight corner's,they scare the crap out of me and i must have driven that road about 2-3 hundred time's in all condition's,one of my neighbour's told me he had spotted you all making your merry way through the twistie's"bleedin boy racer's,the lot of ya"

Big sorries from me too!
Got home from the Liverpool at 6 but the missuse still has tonsilitis and a temp of 103.6 she's been around the 103 mark for 2 days and felt awfull, so not much chance of leaving her with the kids for the evening!
Never mind will c u all at the end of the month!

) and then retire inside for shandy, grub and more chat with maybe a game of killer pool.Although, some of the discussions last night might evolve into the monthly meets containing elements of last nights antics

Sticky/Mick, there's THIS thread that was for both the 1st May trackday and the Shootout, but it seems to have fallen by the wayside since the trackday.
Al, will give you a quick call when Helen gets off the phone. Nothing serious, just some opinions aired last night.

Sure mate.. be good to hear them..
Mick - The Shootout does appear to have fallen by the wayside.. This is a bad month for me in regards attendance so I've not been pushing or reminding people of events.
The take up for the Shootout has been poor, but I'm sure it can be revived if someone wants to take up the reigns for this? BTW.. I think one reason was the cost of Entry which stands at £10 Per Person..
I can't make it with work comittments, but June picks up nicely with the NBO and I'm sure another Joint club Mid Monther(?), plus whatever Dave comes up with from comments from the Strines run..
Happy to help where I can though..
