Pete,

If you were true labour, you would give your scoob to the nearest single mum with 7 kids so she can get to the post office for her benefits and then drop in the off licence on the way home to buy her ****.

Or at least offer to do her school run (to which the little sprogs would then truant).

A true labour man would be using public transport instead of a 20 mpg turbo charged *** extension!

I don't need a *** extension at my age ......

I have paid more tax than you have .......

I have lived through Labour and Tory Governments and I can easily state which party looks after the 'whole' country and which party are the 'I'm alright jack' supporters!!

I know whats what ............. and Labour is where its at!!

Load of old students, immigrants and health workers on the show for anyone that missed it The serious issues we will be voting on such as speed cameras, fuel duty and the fooking tv license were conveniently not mentioned - all the contentious stuff wept under the carpet by the BBC who basically work for Tony(p.s.)Blair anyway

And even they booed Blair onto the stage, and then jeered and heckled him off.

It didn't look good at all for Mr B-liar.

Blair looked uncomfortable and was sweating noticeably. Couldn't be just the lights as the other two looked ok.

I thought Charles Kennedy came across the best.

What planet is Blair on if he didn't know about not being able to book a Doctors appointment days in advance - having to book your appointment on the same day? Didn't realise it was to do with these cr4p targets.

What's that whoshouldivotefor web site again? (Someone wants to do it at work, and I can't find the site now!)

I had thought this would be questions and debate by all three at once - almost didn't bother watching when I found out they were on individually. Was worth the watch though.

How come it's not okay for New Labours untruths to be highlighted when they won an election on the back of "Tory Sleaze"?

Loved the way Kennedy and Howard took it all in their stride, laughing when people had a go at them and saying "I know it won't please everyone but this is my view and I'm sticking to it."

Blair comes on, gives it a bit of the heard it all before bleating and gets really panicky when he realises not everyone (/anyone) is out to kiss his ****. He got very nervous and sweaty and kept saying "look, it's like this", "look, its like that, OK" because he was loosing his temper a bit. Surely nobody is going to trust him now to make a decent decision under pressure. Also he was the only one that gave it the standard politician's "Oh well, I'm not going into that now, let me waffle out of it all" sort of answer. The others were much more head on to deal with stuff.

When's plewis admitting he's backed a right lemon here??!!

Eventhough Blair is a lying b*stard and I don;t trust him I think he honestly didn't know about that surgery appointment business. I didn't think it was a major point anyway and it's better that appointments are made closer to the date. Many people making appointments many days in advance may not turn up, waste the doctor's time and deprive others of an appointment.

The question on GP appointments was such a waste of airtime.

From an apolitical viewpoint, how could he win on this one?? Goverment ensures everyone gets a GP appointment within 24/48 hours, and then get people complaining because they can't "prebook" appointments further in advance of this!! Good grief!! What do people want? To me, it was a very bad question. If I'd been Blair, I'd have nailed this one quicker. What the **** do you want people??? Quicker GP appointments or not?

As they always say, you just can't please some people!!!

No, the point about the doctors appointments was valid. Because come 24/48 hours before the appointment request time, you won't be able to book an appointment, because they'll be fully booked. We've experienced a similar thing at our surgery and it drives us mad.

OK.
A bit of common sense here. So, if a receptionist tells you that all the slots are full, you just accept that and put the phone down? Do you not ask for the earliest available slot?

Surely, if you're desperate enough to require a GP, they'll sort you out, or are you too easily fobbed off?

Can only phone on the day you have to have an appointment at my Docs. Causes all kinds of issues. Just to meet stupid targets.

Its the same at our doctors, and to be honest I don't think its a bad idea.... it stops all the time wasters and hypochondriacs booking up all the slots weeks in advance. I have never been unable to get an appointment if I phone up first thing. Let's face it, if you need to see a doctor it should be a fairly urgent problem, not a "oh it can wait a week or two" type of problem!

They also have emergency slots for random emergency cases if you need to see a doctor the same day and havn't phoned early enough to book.

Having said that, if it ever got to the point where the morning rush to get the appointments became like getting tickets for glastonbury then there would be a problem.... at the moment the worst case scenario, for our local doctors at least, is to hit redial 2 or 3 times.

I was surprised no one mentioned federation with the EU. One of the really important considerations IMO.

The point is, the whys & therefores of how a GP runs the finer details of his appointment system is not a HUGE political issue, if it is political at all...

The goverment has addressed the main issue of reducing time to get an appointment to 24/48 hours, which to me seems what MOST of the people wanted.

As I said, absolute waste of 5 minutes on the BBC last night where more important issues could have been addressed.

Oh, and Blair will love this GP thing now, as it is headline on BBC News website....has deflected all the attention away from Iraq etc.....this is a much easier issue to deal with, and one he can rectify quite easily probably.

I ask you. The good old British public eh!
