what guitar is this that you posted ?

OK the pickups say Samick - is that what the guitar is ?
I have just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to find something similar on the net - and failed.
Is it a set neck or straight thru ?
What year was it made ?
What scale length ?
Looks good - a bit out of the ordinary.

Few more pics for you Shug, will answer some of your questions.

Scale Length is 25.5
As for the year, I have no idea. There is no serial tag on it and I have not found the guitar in any searches of Samicks back catalogue. I got the guitar from a guy as part payment on a debt and he can't tell me anything about it.
The only thing I know for certain is that it is sounds like angels singing and feels better that any woman. Yes, I do love it

Yes that one is cetainly a keeper
I had another look on the net and still could not find anything similar - the closest I got was this - it looks like a tele shape - but it has the single vol and tone with the 3 mini toggles and the floyd
Swamp ash Samick pictures from woodworking photos on webshots

Ok, heres some quick pics of mine
Acoustic Collection, the only one missing is a lovely Aria Electro Acoustic Bass, which has a fantastic sound, and is really easy to play

The Yamaha 6 String above is a fantastic sounding guitar and so easy to play, even with very very old worn strings on, it still sounds damned good
The Aria (green one) is really nice too, and was very cheap
The Yamaha 12 string is absolutly fantastic sounds superb and is so easy to play too, almost as easy as the 6 string I have, as they are virtually the same neck
The Pink one is Donna's and is a JJ Heart, an xmas present from last year
Here are the electrics

The two squires have been gigged very heavily, one is a deluxe, and has all genuine fender components on, and the sunburst has genuine mexican fender pickups
I know a lot of you wont approve of the Ricky 'copies' but the indie is really nice, really easy to play, and has all genuine ricky components on it, the others have had a few modifications to them too
In fact I dont think any of the electric guitars havent been fettled with in some way
And here are the misc one (or mini ones
)

The mini ones are the eldest's (only 7 years old) the mini rick one, is being restored, if I ever get round to it, I recieved it in bits, and have all the parts to go back on
Oh and the Yamaha Bass is another nice sounding easy playable bass
I know none of them are earth shattering, and are at the cheaper end of the scale, but just something I have collected over the years
I do recording quite a bit, and do have access to a nice Gem, a Patrick Egle, Aged Telecaster, Rickenbacker 4003 bass, and Rickenbacker 4008 8 string bass, plus aria pro 5 string, and aria pro 5 string fretless, and the odd other assortment of guitars & basses that are used frequently

Magepaster, what's your take on the amp? I've a Crate GTX65, I hardly ever use it because it's too bloody loud!
Guitar wise, these are my current two, an SG Special in Wine Red and a Crafter acoustic. Both really good guitars in my opinion.

I managed to get the SG as an engagement present from the now wife, well, why should getting engaged cost me a month's salary but her nothing?

2 of them are the eldest's, 2 of them are Donna's, the rest, well I needed a hobby
I have been given one, some were so cheap it would have been foolish not to take them, some were project guitars
but they all do have a different sound, and are used depending on what was/is being recorded, the two strats got gigged quite heavily for a few years too

Mine is the TD-70. To be honest it is bloody loud even when it's trying to be quiet, which in all honesty is not that often. I find the "dirty" channel to be fantastic and it really begs to be thrashed. But I'm not too taken with the clean channel. Far to much hiss at low volumesand it needs a lot of guitar volume to cover it up. It's probably not the best amp to be using at home so if I'm speaking to the wife I use a smaller Peavey practice amp. If on the other hand I'm not speaking to the wife the Crate gets cranked. The Crate does suit public performance better than private. But for what it cost me £44 I'm more than happy with it.

I have a Line6 Pod with full floorboard, and a Behringer V-Amp Bass (dirt cheap in the sale) I have a Marshall Practise Amp which isnt too bad, and a Vox AD30VT 30W Amp, which is really nice as it has a 'wattage' control so you can still crank the amp up full to utilise the valve, but still keep the 'volume' at bedroom levels so as not to upset the neighbours
Got a Tanglewood TW68 30W Acoustic Amp, with Mic input too, and onboard effects, which again was had for a steal
Leslie I wont even mention all my keyboards and 'other' studio gear LOL, just don't mention it to Donna either

I was bored so I BTT'd your two year old thread.
Glad I did - some really nice gear has appeared in the last couple of days
Yeah, but it's probably only a tiny amount.
