Just spoke to Andy and placed my order. He sounds like a top bloke.

For those of you with a classic scoob, he's quoting the following prices for the rear brake components:

Redstuff ceramic rear pads up to MY98 (part num: DP3821C): £36 + VAT pair
Rear grooved discs up to MY98 (part num: GD728): £40 + VAT each

Thanks for sorting the GB out Ray. You've saved me a good slab of money.

Just ordered mine. Andrew seems like a helpful bloke, hoping the discs are as good as he says. Went for std EBC discs over grooved as a) I can't stand the increased noise from grooves and b) the non-grooved discs I've just worn out have been superb. BTW, my old ones were sold to me as Brembo GpN discs, but no-one lists these in 294mm dia. Can anyone shed any light on this?

My grooved/drilled fronts (Black Diamond I think) are perfectly quiet, apart from the gravellyness on first application after standing in the damp for a day or two which you get on any disk. Was thinking of giving the man a call for some similar rear disks/pads which are currently on their way out.

Sorry, misunderstood!!

I'm not sure what make of discs I had, but they had crazed badly around the drillings (not all the way through) and were badly warped, although they were fairly close to the wear limit. I'm sure that not all grooved discs perform as badly tho.

my ebc grooved and spotted discs do make noise when breaking hard, but most of the noise disappears when warm. The noise is like a vibration noise, not a squeeling, obviously made by the grooves passing over the pad.

*****,

thanks, i feel bad calling Alyn and not ordering from him...though i have bought things from him in the past...

The pads in your garage are they for the Godspeed brakes? if you could get the number then that would be great...

Cheers

Give Andy a call on 01970 613300 and since you're on the phone order the lot.

you'll be looking at
£70+VAT for front pads and 2 x £65 for front discs.
For the front only £235 inc VAT but not including P&P
