Just got the new Stephen King book "Under the Dome"
Also a science fiction novel by a new author, David Jackson. It's called BUGZ : Contact - Book Zero. A nice signed 1st edition. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Finished "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" and am now reading "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and you can probably guess what I'll read after that
Does it count that I'm not reading with a real book, rather I'm using an electronic version?

Finished all three, a very good story. Salander is a cracking character. Currently on Book 7 of the Harry Potters. I do all my 'reading' on audiobook now.

Quality thread!
I'm reading "Syd Barret - A very irregular head" by Rob Chapman
and "Gallows Thief" by Bernard Cornwall (I love historical fiction)
I just finished reading all 4 of the Jack Caffery novels by Mo Hayder
I use a Sony PRS500 reader, anyone else using an electronic book? What type and whats your thoughts on it?
I honestly think they are the best thing invented this century, I've saved heaps of money and my ebook collection must be about 5000 books (all modern).
I use Calibre software to catalogue and convert file types.

Looks interesting Would this stand alone or would you need to have read others first?

I would read Revelation Space first and Chasm City if possible. They are all very good books although i'm not a very educated person but they hold my attention well.
I really do enjoy his books. I think I have read them all as I really do like the universe of Revelation Space. Its also very interesting that what may seem like a good ending in one book may lead to bad things in the other books.

I found a compendium of the London Strand Magazine for the months July to December 1892 at our local market. Published by George Newnes of the Strand.
It is in good condition except the front hard cover is missing.
Fascinating read and gives a good indication of how people thought in those days and also quite a bit of history as well.

The Hockey Stick Illusion was an excellent holiday read. All about the corruption of science by a clique of crooked dendro-climatologists. Also got to learn about PCA (a complex statistical technique) which was described in a way even a numpty like me could understand!
Also read "one day" which was a surprisingly charming and amusing page-turner.

Reading Start the Car by David 'Bumble' Lloyd at the moment - mildy humerous in parts

That's all 12 of Jim Butchers Dresden Files done. Best I have read in a while. Don't be fooled by the TV off spin, it is a VERY poor representation of Harry Dresden.
Harry is a Wizard working in Chicago as a P.I. Books are full of excellent characters and Jim Butcher build a believable place where our world lives along side the 'Never Never', where all the Vampires and Faeries Ghouls and Demons live. May sound a bit childish, but this is an exceptional set of books aimed a more adult audience that the Harry Potter books.
I am now stuck right in the middle of a cliff hanger with book 13 not out until July AAARRRGGGHHHH.

Just read "End Game" by Mathew Glass
http://www.amazon.co.uk/End-Game/dp/B004EYSLOU
Best book I've read in ages (well since Vulcan 607 anyway). Builds a story leading up to a military standoff between US vs. China. Describes how a perfect storm of misunderstanding arises through economic, military and political threads. Some good characters you either really hate or root for.
