know of anything? would prefer just a block that i can build with uprated internals but would consider a short engine.

Will keep an eye out... If it was me id stay 2L standard internals, but if you're repairing it, why not add some nice bits

Prelude, the APS filter is very good, but the MAF will need re-scaling as SOON as its on.

Default BLOODY HAT

Great day,
Thanks all, what a great bunch.

I must get a hat, hey mine made 258.1 (the .1 is very important).

Bloody hat, I need one as I havn't got much hair, I reckon the hats should start at 258bhp...

Did I mention the hat?

Bloody hat, getting one of those is gonna cost me shedloads...

Prelude, what MY is your car? There have been some *issues* with the APS filter unless the car is mapped for it. It disturbs the airflow over the MAF and causes it to under read (MAF is what is used for the ECU to calculate engine load) With a remap I think its a great bit of kit.

The Andy F route is a good one for MY98 as a remap isnte possible as per ECuTEK. The Apexi Power FC isn't a remap in that respect, but a very popular route. More pricey are the Link / Gems / Motec. All have thir plus and minus points. I think PE do a piggyback for the MY98 and I know of one chap with good results from that...

I have an Apexi PFC on my car mapped by Andy Forrest. I think he does them for £750 inc mapping. I'm more than happy with mine as are a lot of people on here. The Gems and Motec have extra features iirc but a lot more expensive.

Yeah i ended up with the wooden spoon with a whooping 193.8!!,when it should of been around 215/218 for a standard scoob.

According to the technician the car was fuelling ok but the problem stems from the boost control solenoid pipe where it joins another pipe at a T section where theres a restrictor for the boost, the wrong restrictor seems to be in place as the car was only producing 0.5 bar boost when it should of been 0.7/0.8!!,and was approx 30bhp down.

Went to scooby specialist Triton Motorsport at Hurn yesterday so it will be sorted by next Wednesday.

I'm after the Apexi too so seeing as we are both southern, it might pay to share his travelling costs and do it at the same time?

Default nothing to say about the evos power then

why has no one mentioned the evos power figures as they were up there with the best on this day out?

also pickles power was so called near 400 bhp but no one has seen it much above 350 whats going on?

Are you being belligerent sir

I expect the Evo's are still to supply their figures, no one made a special note of everyones on the day I guess. It's nothing personal.

The EVO's have been mentioned, and produced some very good power figures - but there wasn't much doubt about that. Plus this is a scoob thread so its not like they are being ignored, just more interested in the rest of the cars. Some of the scoob figures were down on the day, not sure why.

Please no-one rise to the bait on this one...

SG, all the figures are there as I put the 3 EVO's first. They all got over 300bhp, along with 6 of the scoobs.

re the Evo's.

The MR320 got 322bhp. BUT, it was running a full decat/ralliart ecu etc etc, and only made 2bhp more than standard. So, what does that say ??

Mr Palmer,
I saw you waving that bloody hat at me as I was leaving, I'll be back
P.S. Your new turbo, injectors and remap should see you with some real big figures!

Yes, group buy sounds good but there must be a limit to the number of cars he can install AND map in one day?

I will have to contact him again to query max numbers. Like I said, I will have the money October if you can wait that long
