Warranties Onine just seem to be far too good to be true. I just did a quote for the car I was thinknig of buying and they did not even ask what type of car it was. Just engine size, age and a few other bits. Cannot believe that they will offer that kind of cover on our cars. Really cool if they do mind.

I would like to know what their position would be if a cambelt went. In my past experience that is a real engine killer

If you continue with the online quote you are asked what type of car you want to cover.

"Auxiliary drive belts" are not covered in the policy. Would anyone consider the cam belt as an auxiliary belt? I will check with them tomorrow for clarification.

I've got a copy of the Policy Booklet on it's way to me so I can make sure everything is above board. They have been very helpful so far and answered all my questions and there have been a few

Maybe at last there is a third party warranty company who do actually provide what they say. Hopefully I will never need to make a claim so won't find out.

In case of any "difficulties" I will be paying by Credit Card so I have the backup of the Credit Card company if things don't work out with a claim. I can't do much more than that to cover myself.

They make a point of mentioning wear and tear which is the std get out clause for most of these companys

OK, I e-mailed them last night and have an answer to the "cam-belt" and the "wear and tear" queries.

No the cam belt is covered providing it has been changed as per the manufactures service requirements. The policy will not cover the cost of changing the cam belt during routine servicing.

2). When you say items are not covered under normal "wear and tear"

what exactly does this mean? For example if my turbo was to fail would

you class this as "wear and tear"?

No the turbo would be covered. Wear and tear mainly applies to the clutch... ie we will replace the clutch for mechanical failure but not if the problem is purely a worn disc.

I would also be grateful if you could let me have a copy of the Policy

Booklet so I can see exactly what is covered/not covered.

The Policy seems good TBPH weither Proven or Warrantiesonline, the majority of spend will be stuff outside terms and conditions but the all important high cost repairs, such as Engine, diff's, gearbox or Turbo are covered in both Policies

heart says stop with Proven but with a £2,500 limit you could end up with a simular bill if you threw a Con Rod.

Wallet says go with Warrantiesonline, under half the Price and with a £4000 limit that would cover the vast majority of cost So looks like they will have another Customer
