Room for one more ??

I have just bought me a 99ra and need a remap but i'm a little confused as there are that many mappers and ecu packages.

Would this remap sort out any det and let me put normal optimax in without need for octane booster ?

Is this chip remappable if I add more mods further down the line .Mods will prob be induction and down pipe etc ,no major internal stuff ?

If yes to above then i'll join the buy and save £££

Cheers in advance for replys

Andy

Give Gavin @ TSL a ring this morning on 0115 9377 200. He will know. Mention the group buy for your discount, then re-post and let us know...

The map will be for your car and fuel. so if you take it there with optimax in it will be mapped for 98 ron fuel, so you will not have to bother with octane boosters.
It is not a chip that is fitted to a my99 but they reprogram your ecu and yes it will be remapable afterwards. You would probably save the cost of the license (although i am not sure what that would be) as after any mod they would have to do the whole process again.

If i were you i would start by forgetting any induction mod except a panel filter, or you may contaminate the maf sensor and blow your engine. With the money you have save from the group buy get a downpipe and have it all done in one go.

cheers

donut u can map the maf if a induction kit is fitted i think a maf of a new age would need fitting on a classic though but ask the guy who is doing the mapping

Question

It is not a chip that is fitted to a my99 but they reprogram your ecu and yes it will be remapable afterwards.
(So they just remap the existing ecu , ifso why would the cost reflect a TEK3 chip and not just a remap ?)

You would probably save the cost of the license (although i am not sure what that would be) as after any mod they would have to do the whole process again.
( Little confused on this, do they have to pay for the licence and what is it for ?)

If i were you i would start by forgetting any induction mod except a panel filter, or you may contaminate the maf sensor and blow your engine.
(Have put in a ITG Panel filter at the moment but thinking of swapping back to the k&n panel what the car came with as i have heard reports that the oil on the filter can knacker the Air/Fuel meter ? )
cheers
Andy .

Just had mine done today, spent an enjoyable morning there, had a look at the GpN rally car, a free cup of coffee and a chat, they even fixed my special "free-flow" exhaust

Very impressed with the car now, it's totally transformed it, no surging, very very smooth and progressive power, much more driveable than it was and my seat-of-the-pants dyno can tell it's much ,much faster. If this is what a remap will do with a PPP exhaust I shudder to think what their new exhaust would do (and a work of art that is)

I drove back with a stupid grin on my face (in fact I didn't go back to work that afternoon, I had a damn good drive round the Midlands)

It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for them, 10/10
