ARRON-Good luck with selling your P1. It's probably best to find a buyer who is not on this BBS so you can avoid wasting time when you just need to close a deal and get shot of the P1.
SJD-Have you driven a new M3 yourself? If not, I suggest that you keep your ill informed opinions to yourself. If you have driven one share your findings and sustanciate your comments.
CHINS-I guess by me joining this thread we're up to 6 M3 owners with cars/waiting for their cars...
Quite agree with you about the need for a decent M3 BBS as all the ones I've looked at are pretty poor in comparsion to the Scoobynet.

A little restraint on your tone would be welcome M8. You will denote the wink after my comments, try reading a little better before getting on your soap box!!

My post was directed towards Arron, who I had a discussion with at at trackday recently.

My views on the M3 regardless of driving one is that it is overpriced for your return. Regardless of application for 50K you could get a Skyline or sorted Scoob for quick road/trackwork and get a used S4 or something for day to day use for the same money. I know which option I would take.

The M3 will never be as quick as a Skyline or sorted Scoob on track or road. And will only be as good on long journeys as something more practical like an S4 avant.

SJD

Edited to de tone

Can I just inform people, that it isnt wise to annoy mr. sjd.

apart from bing the kind of person you dont want to pi55 off, he is a crack shot and will shoot you in the shoulder, causing all the bones to shatter, piercing you heart and killing you.

If guns fail him, he also has the hardest punch I have ever had the misfortune of receiving.

His joke jab to my right arm has crippled my love life!

So be warned.

Good luck with the sale arron.

I must say I was mightily impressed with the M3 and wish all those getting owning one the best of luck. You will need it when trying to determine which one of the hundereds in every car park is yours. Might I suggest a personalised plate.

After spending time with Cem looking at both M3 and skyline, I have to say the skyline rules. There will never be another!

ARRON-Not sure what you're hinting at..explain please??
SJD-Apologies if you took the tone of my response to be somewhat 'tetchy'. As I read your thread (icon or not) I took it to be yet another "all BMW's are crap, as are their owners" type of message. I obviously didn't realise that you were having a private joke on the BBS with Arron. No hard feelings M8.
Obviously you're entitiled to your own opinion on the cars you've mentioned and as I've drven them all (and I mean every performance car option between £15k and £50k-new/used, some on tracks but most on the road)I decided to order the M3 and put my hard earned money where my mouth is...
Hope that Arron lets you have a spin in his M3 when he gets it....

Gareth.

can someone explain why a newbie such as jjr1 would start to afiliate themselves now to this bbs?

I hav eno objection of course, I like the M3 a lot, Ijust dont see the attraction in a soon to be bmw owner seeking out friends on this bbs.

Question

Arron,

What do you intend to do if you dont sell the P1? I assume from this and your previous posts that you need to get rid of the P1 before you can get your hands on the M3. I think the problem with trying to sell this kind of car privately is that potential buyers of a car like the P1 or any other 25-30K for that matter like the touchy friendly dealerships.

I personally know what it's like to have something sat in the showroom waiting for you, only to be stuck trying to get rid of something. It happened with me with a motorbike. I ended up losing a small fortune and promised myself that I would not go through it again.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and take a reality check.

Good luck
Regards
Paul
