Scoobyclinic, Good to see your response on here when it would have been easy to ask for the thread to be removed.

Happy new year.

Why is it always nice to see a specialist getting a roasting? Like the Webmaster says there is always two sides to every story.

Lets face it where would we all be without our subaru specialists, at the main dealers paying ludicrous amounts like £55.00 plus per hour.

agreed there is two sides but this board including the mods tend to be a bit more understanding when a specialist gets the roasting and take a couldn't care less attitude to the dealer when they get one, it's probably the reason why dealers refer to this forum as a virus to the subaru world and can't stand it.
if there was a bit more support for dealers on here they would probably be a bit more understanding when people claim for things on warrantys with a heavily modded car, it works both ways support them they'll support you

I don't know where you've got your opinion from, but we do NOT favour any individual, company or type of company on scoobynet.

This thread has been allowed to remain because it has been conducted legally.

If you notice a thread where a dealer is being wronglyh treated (which has been missed by the moderator team), please feel free to point it out to us using the many features at your disposal and we will deal with it.

£55 + vat.
i suppose isn't too much as you got an estimate.
but normally companies used to give me a call, to ask if thats ok, before they start work.

i have to put a reply to this.
i have been going to the clinic for 2 years now when i first went there. there work load was just starting to get that little bit busy. 2 years on they have got a lot bigger this is down to the good word that is put about by us scooby drivers and all the other work they done for people.
they have rebuilt my car twice resprayed bigend went bang new shox`s and spring and i must say WOW oil changers exhaust a endless list.
i dont thing for one second that this will blemish there rep in anyway just make them a stronger company.
Kev is only human and he works VERY hard and very long hours to get all of the work they have taken on this man needs to be knighted Sir kev OBE. (you never know

Scoobyboy,
I have to agree with you on your comment about the way certain main dealers/specialists get treated on here, by the moderators/webmasters.

A few months ago I felt that a local dealer was being unjustifiably singled out by an irate customer on here.
The name and shame to**ers then jump on the bandwagon without doing ANY research on the agrieved party.
Like simply looking at their previous posts.

eg items for sale which could well have caused the damage to the customers car. (I won't specify what or who on this post, but I did in my E-mail to Shaun), in the For Sale section on Scoobynet the same time as a warranty claim (almost definately caused by the piece of kit which was up for sale, little used/as new) is being pursued vitriolically by the same individual with the said dealer.
It was my belief that someboby was taking liberties. And it wasn't the dealer.

Webmaster (Shaun), I E-mailed you with all the links to the various posts asking you to act in a uniformedly even handed manner as you appear to do with certain 'in favour ' dealers/specialists.

I even drew your attention to another thread that had been edited by the moderators to remove ALL references to another dealers name, that had also degenerated into a 'name and shame' fiasco.

I am still awaiting your reply.
And still waiting to see the post removed.
I won't hold my breath on either count.

I have the utmost respect for Simon De Banke, and have spoken to him on the phone about a previous issue, and understand that it is nigh on imposssible to please all the people all the time.

I have never spoken to you Shaun, but we have conversed on here.
I have no doubt you have your opinion of me, as I have of you.

BUT even the courtesy of a reply E-mail clarifying Scoobynets stance on the issue in question, it appears, is asking too much.

Its all very well saying 'contact us, and we will investigate'.

For some companies and some people you do.
For others you do nothing.

Happy New Year to one and all.

Cheers
MTR

Well in reply to you Kev, I have a copy of the paper work here that clearly shows you reduced the labour charge from £560 (28hrs) to £480. which Suggests no Vat error at all!!

If anyone read my post carefully, on thursday you told me you started the car on the Monday, spending 28 hrs labour. When rightly so I contested it, knowing full well you hadnt started it on monday, you hung up on me!

Adam called me back and apologised 'not you', and said there was a VAT error. I have every right to winge, and I have your paperwork that clearly shows you reduced the labour, not adjusted the VAT.

Plus, I know what I wanted doing to my car. You didnt listen. Why would I have clear sidelights and front indicators, and not bother with the sides??? that would make no sence at all. I asked for a clear indicator PACK, not clear indicators.

You are certainly no Carol Vorderman either. Since when has the difference between £600 and £770 been £55?????????? Your £655.64 + VAT was AFTER you reduced my labour by £80, and lets not forget nobody told me I wasnt getting indicators or sun visor in that price..Your talking in riddles... a certain 'Egg' advert springs to mind.

You can try and advertise your work quality on the fact of what I do for a living, and yes your are damn good at it. If you had treated me fairly I would be a great advertisment and customer for you, there are many Subaru drivers where I work. But I am afraid the opposite is true.

As someone else on here said, you would have thought once it was going over the estimate a call would be made to advise what needed to be done, and where we were at. This Should not be difficult for an experienced firm.

I wish you would Just admit you are not infallable, send me my bits and I'll shut my face.
Ps. Webmaster. I dont seem to be able to change my user name, as you requested??

It has indeed Pal. You know them situations when your scooby drivin mates call and say oooh Kev's replied Blah Blah.... I had to look!! And then I couldnt resist. I do wish it was different. Its cost them more losing me as a customer, let alone my friends, than the £40 it would have cost for the bits they didnt put on.

Maths.... marvellous stuff when you understand it.

I will say no more about it on this site.

Right £770 less the vat equals £655.34.

Your estimate by your admission was £600 plus vat. Looks like the difference to me is £55.34. Were you billed for a sun visor and clear side repeaters?

Like I said, thats correct, but no i didnt get the sun visor, or indicators, and its AFTER my LABOUR was reduced, due to mine contesting it. £55 wouldnt be far off, but it wasnt completed and instead of being the bigger man, he decided to deny that I asked for an clear INDICATOR PACK. Anyway... I cant be bothered to go on anymore. Trust me he is losing far far more than I am.

I can just go somewhere else... he cant win back three customers I know arnt going back. I really really cant be bothered to keep repeating myself. There is a clear point in my thread above.

There are 3000 reads to this thread....75 replies does not give a balanced view of what the 3000 readers thought of it!!

That is my final comment no matter what is said.

How do you know what the other 2925 readers thought of this thread?

Your final comment on the matter! You said this earlier on tonight you just can't seem to let go can you. If this is how you were when you went up to Scoobyclinic theres no wonder tempers got frayed, you would have been thrown off the premises at my place of work mate.

Just two cents from an objective third party!

I think this thread may as well be locked, as both parties have had a chance to put their case forward and nothing more useful/constructive is going to be said! At the end of the day business's and customers aren't always going to be able to settle their differences fully; that's life. There is more than enough info on here for people to draw their own conclusions.

Best.
