I am a regular customer at Scoobyclinic and have spent thousands there and I must say I must say I never heard of such things before. Kev is a top bloke always there to help. He sorted me out with a problem with mine on the 27th, a bank holiday when Scoobyclinic was closed to which i was very greatful.
Erm how can they give you a definate price until the job is done? Its not as if it was straight forward job

Big thanks for all the support from our customers and friends (most of our customers do become friends).
This thread has only just been brought to my attention, you take a couple of hard earnt half days off only to find that while your back is turned someone is trying to stick the knife in.
I guess the odd whinger every so often keeps you on your toes and does not allow you to become complacent. There is always two sides to a story and I would just like to say ....
1. The impreza sport in question was repaired to the customers satisfaction, who is incidentally a quality control inspector at a car factory in Burnaston.
2. It was delivered on time against all odds (Christmas week and all that).
3. It was within £55.00 of the original guestimate not bad I think when dealing with motor vehicles.
4. The sun visor due to the Christmas post did not turn up in time and the customer was advised simply to pop back up and we will fit it while he waits at a later date.
5. Side repeaters were not requested at any time which we all thought was a little strange these were offered at a cost of £21.28 plus vat which the customer refused stating he had spent enough already.
As someone has already stated no matter how hard you try you can only please some of the people some of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time.
As I understood this matter to be resolved on Christmas Eve when the gentleman collected his sport taking away a couple of selection boxes for his kids courtesy of Scoobyclinic, an apology and explanation from myself about hitting the vat key on the calculator twice (which is not a lame excuse, I did it to DaveblueRA earlier in the week) I was however therefore quite surprised that he has posted a rather abrasive account of his Scoobyclinic experience, sad really but luckily in the minority, because anyone who really knows us is aware that every job on every car is treated like our own and dealt with personally.
I would like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
Kev

about hitting the vat key on the calculator twice (which is not a lame excuse, I did it to DaveblueRA earlier in the week)
you make it sound like a small error but to someone who is paying the bill its a very big one, and to do it twice in the same week is bad practice, on a possitive note it must be good publicity to have a quality control inspector say that the work done was of a very good standard!

Thank you for your response Kev.
It is important to note, that unlike many situations, Kev has not been on the phone to us asking us to remove this thread.
He is not trying to run away from it, and has put forward what appears (to me at least) to be a completely rational explanation for everything that's happened.
Remember, if there is one thing I've learnt from running scoobynet, there are ALWAYS two sides to every story.

Did you get your oil leak sorted?
14K wow, wish i didn't have to buy a house and could spend the money on the car instead!

Hitting the VAT key twice?......and twice in the last week?. How many times in the last year 100 + times? the last few years? Everyone makes mistakes but please learn from them! get yourself an new calculator a little bit of common sense would tell you the figure isnt right.

If I explain the calculator thing fully it would sound lamer than it already does, but suffice to say it was only a few weeks old and had a few major keys in totally different places with the inclusion of a Euro key (DaveblueRA's mistake!).
It has since been sacrificed outside the workshop using half a litre of thinners and a match!
How our system works it would be impossible for a mistake to get to the point of invoice as they are all cross referenced 3 times, when all three agree then and only then do the figures go through for the final bill. Both these cases were pulled off working job sheets and added up with the offending calculator in a hurry, it was christmas week and we were rushed off our feet trying to get every one back in their car and hey we are only human you should have seen the mistakes our suppliers made that week. As for the calculator thing ...... truth is sometimes stranger than fiction
