Just a thought chaps.....(and esses too!)
We could always reschedule the mission to June time and take in LeMans as well as a covert op to Amsterdam and do the ring..... a lot to do on 1 trip but WHAT A TRIP....
Ferry over wed/thurs, 1/2 nights Amsterdam to keep the LordHarding satisfied!!!!!, LE MANS for the weekend, The ring on the Monday ferry back on the Tuesday all for 3 possibly 4 days of holiday entitlement?

One of the worst breakfats I've had, all supplied by Safeway next to CD Shambles consisted of a microwave kebab, a prune yoghurt and a doughnut with sprinkles.
Other daft eating challenges included 6 cheeseburgers with a portion of fries, diet coke of course and 16 sausages with hashbrowns and peas.
Glad to say I don't eat that now and lost 2 1/2 stone for it

No matter when we go I doubt there will be much difference in overall cost...
Just done some digging...
The cheapest overnight ferry taking us over Le Mans weekend appears to be Newcastle to Ijmuden and back - the quote I got for car & 1 person with cabin = £224. Hull-Rotterdam was more expensive. Advantage to this is no drive in UK and arrive fresh in the AM on the continent and very near to Amsterdam so minimal fuel use over there.
Dover calais was £98 return but a 343 mile drive to get there so there and back is 2 tanks of fuel (for me on a motorway run) so another £90. Also this puts us miles away from where we want to be so extra fuel cost there which will almost certainly take us beyond the cost of N/castle-Ijmuden.
Don't know about costs at Le Mans but additional costs (except fuel) should be minimal, i.e. food, beer and camping.
Mileage:
Ijmunden - Amsterdam = 15m
Amsterdam - Le Mans = 439m
Le Mans - Nurburgring = 436m
Nurburgring - Ijmunden = 233m
Total = 1123m !!!!!!!!
A lot of this will be motorway miles so you need to work out what you will use based on experience of your own car but for me that equates to approx 4 tank fulls @ £45ish so £180 in juice.
Total cost:
Ferry = £224
Fuel = £180
Camping = £40 (guess)
Food/beer = £100 (guess)
Total = £544!!!!!!! plus admission to the track at Le Mans
Ferry prices for other times of year not that different as june is in school term anyway so if we just did the ring the cost would drop by something like £102 in fuel savings as the mileage to Nurburgring and back from Ijmunden via Amsterdam is only 460m. Apart from that everything else would stay the same and still more cost effective to do the overnight than drive to Dover!
Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

get a penguin, bite both ends off, then dunk into a fresh cuppa and suck away
the carwash record is 4 buiscuits in the mouth at once.
i managed 3 and felt sick, ian managed 4 and went white and pasty faced, kept laughing at me because he knew i couldnt do 5 i keep telling him he shouldnt worry about me doing 5, and he should concentrate on himself doing 6 once i managed to beat 5, buts its going to be hard work to magae 5
i think the trick is going to be, nothing to eat all day till late afternoon and then do 5 at once lol, im dreading it
i once was eating a muller rice and said i could easy eat 20 of them so i had to eat as many as i could, managed 6 and nearly fell over

Paul,
Many thanks for all your hard work. No doubt we will be hearing from Lord Harding on the matter.
Mickey - Were the Penguin biscuits whole?

STIPaul,
Have you ever tried it with a mars bar?????????
A trip to the Nurbergring was suggested as a possible summer activity with a 'sleep over' in Amsterdam on the way.
Would you be up for that?
