If there is a god, why has he persicuted so many innocent people many of them the poorest in the world ?

Don't mean to insult anyone, but..
I generally find people who are deeply religous to be quite 'weird'.
A bloke who doesnt want sex before marriage, whats that about!?! You'd have to be weird surely!? Goes against all natural instincts.
We are here due to a trillion-to-one series of events and conicedences, the right chemicals being in the right place at the right time etc... end of.
Earth, man and all living things created in 7 days...? the fact Dinosaurs were around 200 million years before us kinda puts pay to that! (Oh, and the fact the Earth is a couple of thousand million years old)
Wheres God gonna be when the Sun dies and consumes the earth i wonder...could be the end of all life in the universe, weird thought...
Most of the worlds wars are caused by religous beliefs being twisted. Would any greater bein really allow this to happens?
If they could, i wonder what the 50,000 people that died in Asia would say about a 'God' ...

Im a complete atheist and always have been. I have no interest in religion whatsoever. That said I do see why many people turn to it and are faithful to it - even if I disagree with a lot of it.
What does wind me up is people preaching on my doorstep. Some elderly couple a few months back knocked on the door asking if I believed in god. Im like no I am a complete atheist. Oh they say "never met one of those before, most people still have a small thought towards religion". Im like "look your wasting your time". Still they prattle on until I have to raise my voice and start moving towards them. If they werent elderly Id have already told them to **** off.
Saw some holiday swap program last night and my god that was enough to put anyone off the mormons.
