Problem is, I was in Plymouth yesterday/QUOTE]
Well there's ya problem right there!!!

I had a similar thing about 5 years ago, had all sorts of test for brain tumour etc. but it turned out to be pressure headaches from stress, something about the muscles constricting. Not pleasant.
If headache tablets actually work, its unlikely to be the dreaded, as you probably know, but defo get it checked asap!
You can get seen as an emergency walk in at practically any surgery as a 'visitor' IIRC?

Might be posture? If you only tend to get it at night once you've laid down.
Think alot of problems can occur in muscles higher up the back like in the neck and head if you've altered your posture or done something to your back.
Could be multitude of things. I always thought you couldn't feel a brain tumour as your brain has no nerve endings. However my job is about as far removed as a doctor as anything non-doctor related so I know nowt about the human anatomy - cept where to poke

The result of my wife's headaches from her ear travelling down her face is that she has a brain tumour (an acoustic neuroma).
Steve.
Bad eyesight / wrong glasses? Watching too much TV / sitting too close, too much coffee, chocolate, cheese? Stress, dehydration, blocked sinuses, lack of sleep....
I was having bad headaches last summer, went to the docs but all they can say is I'm not dying, got rid of them when I realised it may be sinuses even though wasn't blocked up, got some otrivine and pretty much all gone.

From: R.I.P Piphead, at least you are home now :(
Well
I been today to fill some forms in so I can get to see a nurse for a basic health check, then I will have to wait a few weeks to see a real doc
The only place that would take me on, dont have a full time doc (eastenders anyone??)
the woman told me this, as a lot of patients get annoyed cos they are more a clinic, and dont often have a Doc around

Since the 'sinuses' are situated around the mid-line of the face, pain situated at the side of the head in the temporal region will probably not be sinus related. Chances are that this headache is not anything serious.
One condition that is typical of your symptoms is temporal arteritis. This condition is VERY RARE (and almost always in >50 age group) but does cause headaches particularly in the temple region. It is diagnosed with a blood test and biopsy.
As above see your doctor when you finally get an appointment.

Thanks for all the advice etc
Still waiting to see the Doc, but I did see a nurse
Anyway Ive done a bit of digging around, and it is looking very likely that I have something called Cluster Headaches
All the symtoms described are exactly what I am having
'The pain is allegedly excruiating, and possibly the worse pain known to mankind, women have even quoted saying it is worse than childbirth'
That is what the organisation for Cluster Headaches says about them, along with lots of other things
Not sure of the cause, and no cure either, but there are a few things that can be taken to ease the pain etc, but most of them take too long to take effect anyway
I had an eye test, and my eyes are perfect, I am still waiting to get an official verdict from the Docs, when I finally get round to seeing one
Until then, ill just have to put up with the suffering
