Andy,

Yeah, I know what you mean, slow take up on the PCI-E side - but that could be mainly down to poor supply of the highend cards - if you look at the AGP versions, lots of makes, but very few if any in stock. I think the like of OCuk have stopped putting new ones up if they can't get hold of them for now.

Still early days for PCI-E, I'm personally holding off for a few months as I've just been through the early days of 939 and experienced problems there in. But really happy with my 939 set-ups now (note the rev2 boards), they should keep me going for a while.

Also, I want to see what AMD do chip wise, rumours of a new FX chip Q3 '05

Keep looking in on the Computer Forum to see which way I swing (oo,er missus!!!, lol), SLi, PCI-e, agp.

Like I said, the money for the mobo and GFX card ain't there til after Xmas, so time is on my side to see what happens. 2 months is a VERY long time in computer terms. I'm still going for the 3500+ socket 939 Winchester (cos I've heard it's one of the best), but the mobo and GFX card are still up for debate.

Thanks,

Andy.

I like your set up you have there Dr Evil very nice spec, yeah i will try to hold out till the new hardware has settled in a little its hard when your very impatiant like me though

ATI are also bringing out a new chipset soon to try and match the Nvidia4 so thats even more to confuse everyone.

Think main reason not many high end PCI-E cards is just like you say Drevil with it being such a new technology the manufactuers cant just leave AGP all of a sudden and concentrate on the new 16X PCI-E

Until my case is available early in the new year i wont be buying any bits anyhow so just keep on top of what to avoid when i do get round to the big shop.

Cheers
