I thought any self respecting 19 yr old would want a modded corsa or -even better- a Nova. :-D
"Cause they'll like blow a Scooby into the weeds, innit"
I'm just jesting btw! Glad to hear some of the younger folk have such good taste and -apparently- such good jobs! Where do you get your money from !!! :-)

I think a lot of people COULD have got a P1 at 18-19 if they wanted to, but its a case of having the financial sense to know its pretty pointless.
One of my uni mates bought a Ferrari 348 in 1999 (aged 19) for 45k (2400 insurance), but it was basically stupid. Has cost a fortune in running costs, insurance and depreciation and if he'd bought a house in '99 it would have more than doubled its value.

By the way, that was cheap insurance for the Ferrari.

So if you don't mind me asking, how much is your insurance?
I own another car a 994cc ax which I insure for £1200 a year, expensive because it is a cover that enables me to drive any other vehicle with the owners permission. I then insure the impreza wrx sti type r through my dad who is fifty with max no claims for £678. My dad is the registered keeper of the vehicle and has insurance for the vehicle who then lets me drive """his""" impreza with his permission and I am therefore covered through my insurance but only third party if I am driving but fully if he is which is never. That is the only way I could ever insure this vehicle do it through myself would be an impossible amount of money.

Christ i'm 20 with an STI8 2003 Modded quite heavily.
I pay £2300 a year to drive any car which also includes my Jaguar XKR Convertible. So I think it is a fair price TBH.
Had a Scooby since I was 18 though.
Jon.

Also, if I could have afforded a Ferrari at 19, I would have bought one. Financial prudence was a long way from my mind back then.
Furthermore, when I was 22 I was very close to buying an Ur Quattro. Insurance wasn't even an issue because it would have been cheaper than the Astra GTE I was driving at the time...
In hindsight it was a good job I didn't, because the IT contracting market dried up soon afterwards and I was out of work for 6 months (early 90's).
