differences are a gay colour (all IMHO) inferior suspension 04 compared to 05 and a slightly better tuned ppp-supposedly the 05 ppp will drive identically as wr1 map just 15 bhp less which is not much for your £4,000.
dealers are just trying to sell them quick before sti 05 ppp comes out, just the same as when dealers were trying to sell the last p1's

When these dealers say 'last WR1' it's probably their last WR1! Notice the missing...'in the country'!
Just a thought.
BTW it is a very nice car and yes I'd have one! (if I could).

So, out of the 500 produced, how many are still hanging around?
Have to say, for the "ultimate" Impreza, they didn't exactly fly out of the showrooms....

Oh the sound of the P1 mocking trolls!
I love the car, and is the best of the 4 I've owned
I know several WR1 orders were cancelled due to delivery times or a change of heart, but the orders from the dealers had to be substantiated with the drivers details, so unlike the P1 the dealers couldn't order loads on the names of their family or staff.
To the best of my knowledge the WR1 has sold well, and it's still the first 'special' that's decent value, as it's cheaper than the sum of it's parts.
Anyway, since there seem to be so many around, could someone please explain to me why 2 dealers in the last week have contacted me in the last week to offer me nearly new price for my car, based on a rumour I might be selling.

There is currently a WR1 on ebay believe it or not. I'm sure you guys and gals can find it if you look. Saw it by pure chance this evening.
Also as for the WR! at P.E. thing, when I ran there a few weeks ago, there was a WR1 that only did 290BHP and about 270ft.lb. I remember it well as the owner is a local meet attender, and his torque was less than from my MY98 wagon with PPP, I got 276ft.lb and 255BHP. To say he was less than pleased is a bit of an understatement.
He was planning to talk to the dealer about it as it was due it's first proper service later that week. We have a meet this weekend, if he's there I'll ask what came of it.

Depends what you want from the car - there have been many 'limited editions' previously that were 'the car to have' at that particular time - Terzo,Mcrae,RB5 and P1. As long as you bear in mind that next year there'll be a better spec'd' limited edition' which'll do everything better and that in 3 years time, any 2nd hand premium you thought you had with it being a limited edition is long gone - P1's for £13,995, who'd have thought this when they parted with damn near £30k 3 years ago. If you test drive the car and it impresses you and you like way it looks then buy the car. Personal taste but can't say the looks of the WR1 do anything for me - so stealthy I nearly missed it altogether...

it is up to everyone to make up their mind based on information available,i have driven a wr1-did not like it and have given my opinion,wr1's are not selling hence why there are 13 on official subaru website, usually at least 1 on e-bay and plenty in autotrader it is unfortunately not that different to sti 05 with the 05 having much better suspension which subaru did not give to the wr1 for whatever reason.it is a bargain at moment as dealers are offering them for much less than £30,000 but still cannot sell them as they are last year's model.i wish subaru had gone all out with spec c suspension, helical front lsd etc but they didnt,it is good compared to an sti 04 but outdated compared to 05 models as it always is with cars

If you think the P1 was such a great car you clearly dont have much of a clue!!.
The 05 car as "standard" does probably handle better.
But firstly we should perhaps fit the same wheels and tyres then do a comparison as as much as I like the wheels on my WR1 the tyres are no-where near as good as the RE`s.
The geom can be changed on a WR1 to the smae spec as an 05 car.
My car has different front and rear bars and anti lift kit and with the standard P Zero`s understeer is just not there.
The very best cars in the World understeer a little.
I can make any car how ever good it is understeer.
You need to understand driving dynamics a little to even know what or why it happens.
I think the 05 car is a cracking car and would have bought one myself but dont want blue interior and wanted a different colour exterior.
stick the bits on an 05 car with PPP (that has less power I might add) and the WR1 is very good value plus you have a car that will de-value a lot or a little more as there are shed loads of them about.
I think you will struggle to find a genuine new WR1.
