Red face

It's not the dawning of a new Hitler that we should be worried about. IMO there are certain people in our current government (blind in more ways than one) whose ideals are to much along the lines of a certain Mr Beriya for comfort.

Jason

I wasn't having a go at you i was just trying to curtail anyone using it as an argument that the ideals of the writer could be justified in some way. I totally agree that it must be read to fully understand the ethos behind the whole situation and ideals.

I found it to be most disturbing and i have to admit that i read it many years ago but i remember feeling that the whole belief of his ideal world was flawed beyond belief

PS It is worth bearing in mind that Stalin killed more Russians than Hitler, Napoleon and the Civil War combined

Yet the west stood by and did nothing

Good point, It is percieved by many countries that mass extermination by your own countrymen is acceptable to other countries

Don't think that those sort of policies could not happen in this country, or any other for that matter.

The pursuit of more and more power is far more important to modern day leaders than the welfare of the people who voted for them.

I explained to my 'Colleague' today that I did not appreciate his views and that it could land him in a lot of trouble, I also explained how near he came to spouting his homophobic rant at a colleague with close Gay relative, not that should make much difference as it was prety offensive to any right thinking adult, anyway he looked suitably chastened and a bit sheepish.

I asked him if he had ever been offended, inconvenienced, hurt, ridiculed or otherwise compromised by any gay person, he at first said he 'gives them a wide berth', I dont think he had actually met anyone who is openly gay yet thinks they should be exterminated, I view somebody being Gay like Morris Dancing or Rock Climbing, not my thing but its a big world and it takes all sorts, whats the point in objecting to something you can never ever change and doesnt even effect you. I think the poblem is with this chap is that he is very bitter about something and is looking for somebody to blame, yesterday it was Gay's, obviously his extermination plans would not stretch to Feminine looking Lesbians, just Gay men and the 'Big Butch ones', also Transexuals came in for some stick as well.

LOL @ Bubba ... do you usually venture out this much?

Oh, I have my moments. I usually troll areas of concentrated chavness, though. Meting out harsh justice to the owners of Lexus rear lights and flamer kits wherever I may find them...........

i've said it to many people, and i'll say it here!

This country wouldn't be as bad as it is, if Hitler had won the war.

They came for the Communists, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Communist;
They came for the Socialists, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Socialist;
They came for the labor leaders, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a labor leader;
They came for the Jews, and I didn't object - For I wasn't a Jew;
Then they came for me - And there was no one left to object.

Just to set the record straight, they managed to find the "final solution" for 6 Million Jews and getting on for another million people from the other persuasions that they decided to get rid of. Don't forget the disabled and mentally ill people who were subjected to euthanasia by gassing or lethal injection.

Nothing to be proud of in my opinion.

Cool

'Old Adolf' had some great ideas. He dragged Germany out of the doldrums and he instilled pride in the German people after the disgrace of Versailles.

Unfortunately his ideas about race, and his solution to them were somewhat misguided, and the world paid a terrible price.

The figure of 6 million that gets bandied about is open to question. There were hardly 6 million Jews in Europe in the 40s, and plenty were left afterwards. Can't help feeling the figures are skewed and went some way to help the creation of Israel. Funny really, we give them Israel out of collective guilt (after all, we created Hitler by screwing the Germans with the Treaty of Versaiiles) and now all the trouble with AlQaeda and the Muslim world basically boils down to that!

I'm not anti-semitic, I'm anti-Israel. It's totally different.

If anyone dares to question any aspect of the holcaust, they are immediately labelled a ****, or anti-semitic. It utter ****e. The figures speak for them selves. And lets not forget that the ***** slaughtered at least twice as many 'untermenschen' in the East than Jews, but do we remember them?

What right did the allied nations have to create Isreal? None? Look at the trouble it has caused.

I have nothing against Jews, Christians, Mulsims, Hindus or any other religion, it's all bollox in my mind, but it's up to them. I would be mightily pissed off I was uprooted from my home because someone decided to give it back to the Druids!

Most of your post I'll ignore.

But I'd suggest you wander down to Gatwick, catch a plane to Krakow, then drive for an hour to a town called Oswiecim. Just outside this is the site of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

Take a tour, and I'd challenge you to then come back say that Hitler "had some great ideas".

Adolf Hitler is speeding through Germany with his chauffeur at the wheel on his way to an important address.
Driving down a country road, the chauffeur (who is distracted, looking out the window at the countryside) doesn't see a pig walk out onto the road, and he hits in with the car.

Stopping the car, he jumps out, and Adolf climbs out also to see what is going on. The chauffeur, very distressed by what he's done asks Hitler what they should do, and Hitler tells him impatiently that they're in a hurry and they should move the pig to the side of the road and go to the address and worry about it later.

All the way to the address the chauffeur, who is a fairly good-hearted person despite his employer, is worried about the family who owned the pig and wondered how they'd react to discovering the pig, so when they arrived he asked Hitler whether he shouldn't drive back to the farm and let them know what happened.

Hitler agrees before hurrying to the podium, and the Chauffeur hurries back down the road.

Four hours later, stumbling down the road, his arms full of sausage and bread and his breath smelling of liquor.

Hitler in a rage demands to know what has happened to him, and the chauffeur explains, "I did what I thought was right. I went to the farm where I killed the pig. When I went and knocked on the door and gave them the news, they gave me this sausage and bread, fed me the best ale I've ever tasted and let me have their way with their beautiful nubile young daughter and then sent me on my way."

Adolf seemed confused by this and asks his chauffeur, "well what exactly did you tell them?"

To which the chauffeur replied "I really can't understand it either, all I did was tell them "I'm Hitler's Chauffeur, and I killed the pig."

What, Mr Hitler (who does bake exceedingly fine cakes) actually originated the VW Beetle? I always thought it was Ferdinand Porsche who thought it iup, and who then punted the idea to Hitler.

Up for debate to an extent:
Hitler became chancellor in February 1933 and declared at the Berlin auto show his intentions to get Germany motoring. Then a year later at the 1934 show he stated that his government would support the development of a 'peoples car'. Impressed by Porsche's design capabilities, Hitler delivered him the design brief of a car that could carry two adults and three children at a speed of 60mph with at least 33 mpg. The price was to be 1000 Reichmarks, not much more than a motorcycle at the time.

At any point did I say that his wholesale slaughter of Jews, Slavs, Gypsie, pretty much any opponent was good? No. Quite the contrary in fact.

However bad he was, he did have some good ideas, and to deny that is narrow minded to say the least. He was a twisted genius in many ways, had his mind not been warped by various influences, he could have been a great man. Alas we all know how he did turn out.

If Einstein had been a paedophile, would it have made the theory of general relativity any less important?
