Nice to see I'm so popular - still sometimes popularity isn't a pre-requisite for getting the job done.
BTW ajm I don't own a cat - no one does - they are free spirits and I am happy for them to roam wherever they like

tiggers.

About the only benefit of being a moderator must be being able to see the behind the scenes stuff that goes on - some of which must be quite interesting. The novelty would wear off eventually, I imagine, making the job a thankless task.
Does having one of your threads deleted disqualify you from the job?
Maybe the desire to be a moderator, as with politicians, should in itself disqualify you from being one...

Possible scenario
"Hello Darling, I've become a moderator on Scoobynet", "congratulations my love, we've arrived", "yep holidays in the Maldives for us from now", "we'll be the envy of the street!"
Realistic Scenario
" Alright Babe, I've become a Moderator on SN", "what, you're having a laugh, when are you going to have time to do that, anyway crack on and get that nappy changed and when you've done that this needs doing and that, and then you can do all those other jobs i've got lined up for you"
Each to their own I suppose, there is always the being there to be shot at scenario as well

LOL
I was never
1) Biased and bitter towards certain members
2) Pedantic
3) Argumentative
4) Abusive with power (especially to support your own arguments)
4) Able to p*** everyone off and dont give a stuff
Until I had been a moderator for some time.
It has that effect on you, you see, having to deal with all the arseholes on here
And as for "remember simon is a god, walks on water (blah blah blah)"
More like "remember Simon thinks he is a God and can walk on water"

It can actually take up quite a bit of your time
I spent 2 hours yesterday afternoon chasing around after a user deleting his threads, editing, locking, answering his rant threads!
It's not as easy as it looks
I don't think I fit any of the below but it's early days
1) Biased and bitter towards certain members
2) Pedantic
3) Argumentative
4) Abusive with power (especially to support your own arguments)
5) Able to p*** everyone off and dont give a stuff
p.s I do own a cat
I wondered how I got the job, now I know

Cue a mad rush of mods posting clarification on the issue
