Pontificating
Having a 17 month old daughter and thinking in all seriousness I could go out buy San Andreas and sit down and play it properly was a foolish foolish idea, I think this will take 2 years to complete LOL.
Now I remember why I took a few days sick a few months before she was born and played Vice City Solid for 3 days, didn't even get dressed, because I knew those days were coming to an end. I wasn't wrong!!
Still the missus and Mya will be staying at friends friday night and won't be back until Saturday evening, 4 hours sleep should do it, so maybe a 20 hour sesh to get up to speed, done about 3.1% so far, hope to be in double figures come Saturday evening.
I still **** myself when I show people the map for Vice City and then pull out the SA map, HOW BIG!!!!
Love it

Me done!
Finished the main missions a couple of days back. Percentage is 80.4 I believe
Collected all the snapshots and horseshoes which makes life easier for the second and third islands. Very good idea to get friendly with a couple of the ladies - one is able to prevent you losing weapons when busted, and the other when wasted... Wait until you complete the airfield missions before collecting horseshoes. You'll see why
Oysters are a complete pain and I really can't see why anyone would be bothered. Mate was just talking about some mission he's on and it appears I've not even seen the Casino asset missions so I need to go back and check them out to bump the percentage a touch. A couple of the races in Los Santos are still outstanding. I was too drunk to win them the other night! You get a lot of percentage completion for winning the races - each one is classed as a full mission it seems.
That truck mission is a killer, but my worst mission was probably the red baron flying, or some of the stuff in flight school. Just can't do that stuff with the PS2 controller, though the harrier is easier once you've got to grips with it
This game truly rocks. Spoilers available on request

>(how do you get better skill for underwater swimming?)
The more you swim underwater the greater your lung capacity. You can also collect all 50 Oysters for an increase in lung capacity and a rise in sex appeal.

Cheers for that, I had a load to do in LS.
87.something% now. Still have to get 100% territory and haven't bumped into one of the girlfriends as yet. I know of the girl outside shooting - need to lose some muscle - but would appreciate knowing the location of the other.

Managed to finish the first round of exports - finally found an infernus and delivered to the crane. What has it given me in reward - another set of cars to collect - Jeeez. Now I've found out there's three sets. Seems collecting the first set have me 0.5% tight basts.
Katie is the girl by the gym in San Fiero. She'll stop you from losing your weapons after dying. The most useful girl to get on your side. Once she's agreed to date you you can ignore her
Barbara is the girl to date for saving your weapons after being busted. She's in the town just to the east of where the boat school is. I found her standing around outside the police station. You need to be a fatty to get in her good books LOL. I don't tend to get busted much - you'll never take me alive coppa!
Have you done any train missions? I only ever got one by jacking a train in the station in San Fiero. Had to deliver some goods in a set time but blew it by going too fast and derailing on a tight curve. Don't know if there's some marks for this but havn't seen another train that's not on the move

I'm guessing I've done the casino missions as there's nothing in there. No train misisons so far. Will look for Katie tonight. I was a fatty when I first met Barbara, trouble was I also had full muscle! The fat was easy to lose, but the muscle's taking forever to go down, just running around seems to put it back on and quickly!
I'm on >50% territory, but can't be arsed with trying to get gang members to appear right now.
I still have Vigilante, Fire, courier and trucking missions to do.

I've not done any of the emergency services stuff yet either. Had a go on paramedics but just got annoyed when I tipped the ambulance after L6/7. I guess there are good and bad areas to do each one. I expect doing vigilante out in the sticks may be a good idea.

I did the ambulance missions in a small town - can't recall exactly, has a hospital - very easily and quickly. Going to have a crack at the mountain biking comps next, first attempt was painful.

Hit 90.something% earlier this evening, I've called it a day and dropped the game at a friends house. Great music, great design and engineering but way too consuming to be healthy.

Played at little at my friends, managed to complete 8 track. Was shaking at the end of the race, in car view made it twice as easy.

found a couple of nice motors on my travels over the weekend. A Ford GT40 type car close to the garage (business) and a MONSTER TRUCK!!! The Monster Truck is the best car so far
Currently at the plane graveyard learning to fly which is quite difficult.
Tried that poxy mini-gun level loads of times and no matter how I go about it I just cant beat it

The monster truck is a lot of fun. If you complete 8-track in the stadium at Los Santos one's waiting for you outside whenever you want it. Also, if you get fat then date the girl in the Driving school she'll give you the keys to one parked outside her workshop.

The best advice I can give on trhese is take your time and relax. There is usually plenty time to pick up the people. As soon as you complete a level press start and look at the map - your objectives will be blue spots. Work out the best route to the spots from where you are and remember that the ambulance will only take 3 people so aim for groups of 3.
Completing the Paramedic missions almost doubles the length of your health bar and completing the firefighter missions will make you fireproof.

checked progress last night and at 38.something%. Completed the flying school which was harder than I was expecting. The level where you ride into the back of that hercules type transporter plane is pretty cool, thats one long period of free-fall!!!
Now stuck on entering Area 67. Only tried it twice and both times I keep getting noticed but then again that was after 5 Grolsche
Still cant do that mini-gun level

MJB2, do you mean the one where you go to the top of the mountain and shoot a number of helicopters? Took me a couple of go's too but managed it in the end. The hut has a health 'heart' inside to help things along if you didnt know.

Realised last night that I have only done 7% or so of the actual game mind you, I have done Level 12 paramedic, Level 12 Firefighter, 50 Taxi dropoffs and 100 tags. I guess its time I did a few missions!!
