Oranoco why is the cossie a better car.... Even in both standard forms the Type R is faster, and dont have that boy racer bodykit stuck to it.

How can u compare that a car with say 400bhp to one thats running 100 or so less ?

posted by madevelopments on passionford.

The spec of my car on that day 402hp/401ftlb, koni shocks standard springs/brakes worn out tires, payed me for a new set aswell after they burnt them out ,
The cars where timed round the circuit Scoob Vicky and a Grp n driver dont know his name, My car, clarkson and Me both lapped the same time either Clarkson is a better driver than we think or I am crap I did 2 laps my first was the same as Clarkson 2nd I cocked up and went wide.
Both Clarkson and Vicky said the scoob could not live with the Escort in a straight line so the Scoob made it back in the turns.
I am happy about the cars timed the same but the staged race made the Escort look slow on the straight but the result would have been the same if it had been a proper race.

lol...............

Those clarkson videos are a pile of choreographed cack!

Anyone see the one where Neil MacKenzie got beaton by a 911 round the track??

1. Neil was short shifting at 9l (redline 12k)

2. The Porsche and the R1 were on track at the same time and there is no way Neil would have risked his BSB chances buy getting run over by a porshe

3. IIRC it was at thruxton, a bloody fast circuit far more suited to the acceleration of the R1

In other words don't believe anything you see in a Jeremy Clarkson video!!

Oh, and cossies are better than scoobs..........lol

madevelopments..........

What I am saying is if it had been a drag race I would have easily won, if there had been any more corners the Scoob would have easily won

Yeah I am still here Rich

Hopefully we will get over to watch sometime. Not sure about going on track though yet, can't afford it while it is the footie season. Andy's car won't be back until about Feb/Mar next year

It only proved 2 things that video, handling is more important than power and people believe what they want to see.

If the Escort had had the same quality of suspension/brakes as the Scoob it would've murdered it, if the the Scoob had the same engine as the Escort it would've murdered it, if they were both the same spec they would've been about the same.

And since that time the Scoob would've lost 15k and the Escort would've stayed the same

Thumbs down

What planet are you guys on?

My STANDARD UK Turbo 2000 used to eat Escort Cossies for breakfast!!!! Now I have a STi Type-R V6, 330bhp!

Cossies are a complete pile of typical FORD sh*te! Badly built with only a medicore engine and saved only by a decent turbo! I know as I've driven plenty whilst working in the motor industry!

What have you done to your STI to get 330hp?

As an aside, my "TT" eats STis for breakfast - and that's when it's totally standard. Trust me

Cobblers mate! I have chewed many a UK Impreza with my tweeked RS Turbo but I wouldn't go chasing most Cossie's because I would almost certainly lose.
