Yes, the special payload was in fact the "secret ladder". Because we had just been scrambled, ground crew just chucked it in the back while we were warming our engines. In spite of you being able to see the ladder, you will not that all the pilots are rendered invisible by a special film across the windows!!!
The "secret ladder" has many special uses, one of which is to allow the Sqauadron Leader to check our formation parking accuracy from above. And boy, is he picky !!!!
