Not many here - I tend to keep mine a while:

1) Peugeot 309 1.3 GL. Traded it in after six years at 96k miles, with no breakdowns.
2) Mazda 323 1.6 GLXi (the type with pop-up headlights). Written off after eighteen months.
3) Mazda 323 ZXi. Traded in for number 4 after four years.
4) Impreza WRX MY02. Current car, and likley to be so for some time.

Cool

For what it's worth :

1. 1983 Mini - Broke down due to damp distributor, bonnet flew up in my face at 60 mph, and was reversed into at a toll both. Great in the snow but not as economical as folk believe them to be.
2. Vauxhall Nova 1.2 Antibes - Great wee car with go-faster stripes & sunroof. Did a ton downhill, and on a different occasion was nearly written off due to a drunk driver rear ending it.
3. Legacy 1.8 Estate - Brilliant motor, although under powered. Very good on un-metalled roads, but grounded it twice on river banks. The car I had the longest and everyone loved it.
4. Impreza MY98 Sport - Didn't do a lot of driving in it, but a very under-estimated model and very poised. Actually a good car in its own right and shouldn't really be compared to the turbo versions.
5. Impreza RB5 - Lurvely! Write off.
6. Impreza Terzo - Not bad, not as good handling as the Sport or RB5, but still gives a grin to me on acceleration and to a lot of folk it's synonymous with the rally car. A lot of folk come up and start talking to me about it, but I usually play it down as it's only 210 horses.

3- 1979 Mini Clubman ( Again, fell apart)
4- 1986 Peugeot 205 GR ( Fell fowl to a rally faze I had)
5- 1992 Peugeot 205 Rallye ( Big wheels, mudflaps and lamps, never let me down)
6- Another Mini while I had number 5 ( as project, took it apart and never put it back together)
7- 1992 Vauxhall Astra 2.0i Exclusive 170 Cabriolet ( Longest I've owned a car)
8- 1996 MK3 Volkswagon Golf GTI Anniversary 8v ( wow, how slow)
9- Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo ( Great power, interesting handling and the usual rust)
10- MY98 Subaru Impreza Turbo Wagon ( Best car yet, would only replace with another one)
11- 1982 Ford Escort XR3 ( as a project, still got Scooby )
12- 1989 Ford Escort XR3i ( as a project, still got Scooby )

Both XR3's gone now so just left with the ever faithful Scoob.

Opel manta special 1.9 auto (green) (built like a tank and could beat almost anything off the line)
Austin Maestro (white) (yes I know, but had new born to think of)
Renault 21 (white)
MG metro (red)
FIAT thingy (blue) (like a ren 21 but can't think of name of model)
Ford Escort (blue) (hated it - went after 3 months as sh$te)
VW Polo 1.4 (green) CL
Renault Scenic GL (red)
Renault Scenic Authentique Plus (met green) lovely vehicle
Renault trafic van (red)
Suzuki Liana (silver) - star in a reasonably priced car? actually a good car

Not a bad list I suppose for someone who has always been considered as "sensible". Although the Polo did to Elland Road - Guildford straight after a match in 2 hours 10 minutes with 4 adults!!!!!!

Default Back in the old days.

Let's see if I can remember ...back in the old days.

1, 1953 Morris Oxford series MO (like a big Morris Minor). Brill, had hydraulic jacks in each corner, leather bench seats & luxury for its age..
2,1961 Ford Popular 100E,
3,1966 Ford Anglia van painted it Lime Green and shoved a 1600E crossflow engine in. Fast off the line but top speed was about 65mph!!!
4,1969 MG 1300, Really enjoyed that one, Black with JPS gold pin stripes.
5, Austin Princess 1800, Surprisingly good handling for a barge.
6, Another Austin Princess.
7,1972 Austin Maxi 1750, really surprised a few sports cars with the performance and handling of this car.
8, Lots of company cars followed over the next ten years from Mini Clubman to BMW 750i.
9, BMW 320i, superb car when it was new.
10, Transit Caravanette (obviously married now with Kids)
11, Tranny van as well as above, slotted a 2 litre lump in and surprised many a chav with it.
12, 1988 Mercedes 280 GE 4x4, still got it and is now up for sale.
13, Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear Super Exceed 2800 Intercooler Diesel (thats what the label said). Probably the best all round vehicle I have owned until...
14 MY95 Subaru Impreza JDM WRX WAGON with auto transmission..how do you follow this..save up for my next Scoob.

1. 998 mini , Twin 1 1/4 with k & N pancakes, +20 thou raised D 998 cooper pistons. stage 2 polsihed and ported head. 264 fast road rally cam. duplex timing chain , lightened balanced bottem end, lcb straight through exhuast with one box. Dynoed just before i got it at 52bhp at the wheels and the idiot had put the wrong piston rings on it, didn`t realise they were +20`s. Adjustabla spaks up front and standard back. Don`t think about lifting of near a corner or it slung the backend out, felt really unstable during heavy braking, but awesome round b roads on the power. Owned for 6 yrs

2. Renault 25 2ltr. what can i say ran it for 5 yrs i needed something big to transfer stuff around. comfortable thats it really.

3. My 02 Bug wrx, what can I say, thought it was awesome when i first got it, and now i think it needs more power, but I have a plan, doen`t know when it will come into fruition but it`s there. Only mods so far are boost gauge, cd changer and prodrive springs and geomatry setup, next thing on the list I think will be leather interior. (spent to much time in dads jag. )
