I've got a shopping list as long as my arm for Halfords tomorrow. Mainly bits and pieces to get some sort of IC water spray in place. I'd quite like to use the holes in the Zero Sports TMIC Duct to mount some ordinary washer jets in for the time being. Not ideal i know, but it should do until some STi jets arrive? I just want to be able to drench the intercooler.
If your interested I have my ic water spray bottle sitting in the garage. I could also give you spray jets which are currently on my car at another garage.

Chris, i'm not too bothered about the water spray bottle for now as it's more convienient for me to use the washer bottle minus screenwash. When you say spray jets are you referring to normal windscreen washer jets or the genuine STi TMIC spray jets? PM coming up.

Thanks Floyd/Graham, that'll be the plan i stick to unless i can find the STi jets.

Carl, you can buy the STI/P1 i/c jets from your local Subaru dealer for about Ł16 (2).

I chose to use the misters as the P1 jets are a little heavy on the spray for me.

Mark96UKTurbo - look out for mine when you get there - its a red 98 - I'm not there - its been there since Thursday having a service and a gearbox replaced, but I won't have time to pick it up till Saturday - I've asked Adam to stick it on the rollers this week too - be interesting to see what it makes....

Cheers,

Mark

Nice one Floyd, i'll mention it to the dealer today and see if he has any in stock - doubt it though. Final treat should be arriving today, question is, can i get it to fit the car in time?

He will be the one with the BIG ice cube around his TMIC....
Graham.

Seems strange actually doing nothing on the car.
911 is to be wheeled-in from the cold soon to try and find some brakes and soften it all off for 10% road, not hill climbing, unless the Sti breaks it's trans then I'll race the 911

Carl: sounds like its going well.

What did you use to secure the heat wrap in place when wrapping the turbo? Fencing wire from B&Q do the job?

Had a bad day for collecting parts so far. Got gaskets ok from Subaru but not surprisingly no spray jets, i should hopefully have a pair of STi ones by the end of the evening though. As far as a reducer piece for the headlight washer pipework goes it looks as though i'm making one!

On a positive note, the final piece of Phase II arrived today... STi V6 on left, modified MY00 centre and MY98 on right.

STi core.

Custom core.

Will have to modify the D/V port the same way as the previous one.

Going to be a busy day tomorrow with the head-manifold gaskets, AVC-R and TMIC water spray to do. I'm just praying the rain stays off!

Hi Bob, you could've fooled me. I used proper locking wire. If it's good enough for one of these....

It's good enough for my bucket.

Iain, Dad's the one for the helicopters. L, L2 and S61 is about as far as my knowledge goes. I'm going to check that you're correct though.

Mark96 - No probs - Sounds like you had a good day !

Probably should've pointed out before that mine doesn't look entirely like a UK - its running on 18" RSTs, Lowered Eibachs, has a P1 front splitter, STiV6 rear spoiler, N/S 22b bonnet scoop and a mini-air scoop on the O/S - Plus its fitted with 00 headlamps (with HIDs), PIAA spots, FMIC, clear indicators and sidelights - oh, and lexus rear lights....

Carl, to make a reducer pipe from headlamp washer to screen washer pipe size I used the end from a tube of sealant mastic type stuff. You can cut it to the right dia easily and hold with normal hose clips.

Top man Chris.

Mark (both of you), can you post full engine specs along with power/torque figures (i know you don't have yours yet Mark W). i.e. right down to fuel, brand/quantity of OB (if any), what's heat wrapped, where the filter is, ECU, mapper, mileage etc. If we can compare notes directly hopefully we get an idea of what works and what doesn't.

Hey Floyd, thanks for the tip. I've knocked up a drawing in CAD so hopefully i'll be able to turn a basic adaptor on the lathe tomorrow. Can see it being a late finish!

Here's the spec of my power mods

Started as a 98UK, with td04 ....

K+N 57I induction kit
Prodrive Grp N Silicon inlet hose, with no D/V ‘T’ off –
Power steering reservoir moved and fuel lines under inlet manifold ‘adjusted’ to allow fit.
TD05FE (early WRX TD05+Martin Fox FE conversion) Turbo
Hybrid fmic
I/C hard-pipes are wrapped
Ported headers (wrapped) – provided/fitted by Jap Innovations
TSL up-pipe (wrapped)
TSL Grp –A downpipe (wrapped)
TSL 4” Grp N back box
TSL decat exhaust centre section

Power FC ECU +Andy F Maps, set for Optimax (always)
AVC-R Boost Controller Running 1.5bar->6k, dropping to 1.4 bar
550 injectors with phase 1 adaptors
255 fuel pump
FSE regulator
PFR7B Spark Plugs

Cold Air Feed Fan, mounted in hole in inner wing to duct air when stationary
O/S wing brake feed modified to vent air onto disc and into inner wing
Reflective Air shield around Filter (Made from Transmission Tunnel Heat Material)
Breathers joined and vented, via filters, to air
Left bonnet scoop replaced with mini-airfeed scoop over induction kit
removed dumpvalve
airbox resonator removed in front O/S wing
remove undertray
Carbon canister removed.

All wrap is cool-tek, from Agiemech

Power figures to follow - hopefully tomorrow....

Mark

PS _ In between the above spec and standard were a load of other mods (PE phase 2, etc) on the TD04 - I made 281hp/267lbft on PE rollers then.....

Mark (PJ), tomorrow.

Mark Wild, i'll absorb your spec when i get in tonight - just popped on to answer a PM. Seriously considering insulating the heater matrix hoses under the TMIC at the moment, although i'm unsure if the stuff i bought would be safe to apply to those pipes - thinking they may get rather warm.

Can feel a proper Harvey-style heat management project coming on.

Forgot to mention mileage... It had 41000 on the clock when I bought it -

70000 odd, when I PE'd it

currently 135000 miles...
