Cool

I'm getting my gauges fitted next Wednesday with my first year service. I'm quite excited! If those pictures that austen posted are anything to go by, they are going to look fantastic

I'm getting the subaru OEM newage centre pod and for all those that would like to see it... I'll get pics posted as soon as it is done!

Very pleased with mine, thanks again Austen.

Some good fitting instructions here.

Anyone know if either of the thread adapters supplied with the oil temp are suitable for the M18x1.5 bung over cylinder #3? What's the T-piece for?

I'm going to have a chat with them on wednesday... As I'm getting a pod and service and the guages installed they are going to give a discount... they have fitted defis but not the autoguage, so they can only be certain once they have seen them. They said fitting the defis is a 3 hour job and all in is 265 pounds.
Does that sound about right to you? The dealer is London based, so I imagine the labour is more than average.

I would love to fit them myself and get my hands dirty
But before I start taking things appart I would prefer to have a nice sheltered clean environment to work in..... and I worried about breaking something important

No they aren't i got the thread guages out . I've ordered the bung from http://www.lemansmotorsport.co.uk/mo...ing_parts.html

and got the 18x1.5mm to 1/8 NPT bung (LM067).

For the oil pressure i have got a 100mm bit of pipe fitted with a 1/8 BSP male end to go in the block, the other end i have 1/8 NPT fitted into an 1/8bsp to 1/8 npt T piece (LMA057). The T piece then has a 1/8 NPT and 1/8 BSP fitting left to fit the original oil pressure switch and the new sender.

I've not actually fiited it all yet, its all sitting in the box waiting for some free daylight time!!

Cheers. Just had the first year service on mine the other day, should have asked them about a quote for fitting mine

Think I'll be brave and give it a go myself though Looks pretty straightforward.

Austen - Is there not room to fit the LMA057 T-piece with the senders fitted without using an extension pipe ?

I've not tried but from what i've read and having a look the other day, i very much doubt it. Also i don't fancy having that big sender hanging off a T piece on the block with all the vibrations, i've seen similiar set ups on kit cars snap the T-piece off in the block Not only is it a bitch to get the broken thread out, but if you don't stop instantly your engine is fooked!!

Austen, another question

For the oil temperature gauge I need:
ADAPTOR M18*1.5 to 1/8NPT LMA067 £3.70

For the oil pressure gauge I need:
OIL GAUGE T-PIECE 1/8BSP to 1/8NPT LMA057 £4.94

Do you have part numbers for the pipe and other adapters, does the pipe have to be made up by lemansmotorsport, or is this something I can do?

Thanks.

I had my pipe made up (oo er missus ) by a local place before i found lemans, but i have spoke to them since and said they can do it. Do you want me to call them and explain what we need and try and get a discount, and then you can all order it direct??

Oh yes please! I'm not worried about a discount as the parts seem to be quite cheap anyway, but if it was left to me, I'd order about ten parts before I got the right one. Thanks again.

Is there anyway you can include me in this. I don't have a clue what parts I am supposed to be ordering! onder2:

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking along the same lines.... 265 is not a small amount of cash, and if there are other bits required to fit it could end up costing a little more... It does look straightforward.

And if we all let Austen have a go first, perhaps he can tell us what not to do if it all goes pear shaped ....

Just kidding good luck this weekend and thanks for the info
