Lol, probably wise to admit that I havent had the heart to even look at my golf clubs let alone play since my last dire performance.

Going to have to get up to the driving range soon.......

Looking forward to this...

have never played this course, but going from past experience (and the way I seem to be slapping the ball about), the fairways do not need to be narrow for me to find the rough

looking forward to this.

Lol too true mate ... last golf day was quality. Especially with Betts having never swung a club before. I had him hitting 100yard scremers with his 7 iron by the 18th!!

Are we going to play singles this time, or some sort of team combination??

how about a combination of both?

Singles medal, and at the same time, pair up some high end handicappers with low end handicappers for a team stapleford score?

I played a version of betterball that was a good laugh, 2 per team, scoring stapleford points, alternate shots, using an yellow ball. As soon as the team loses their yellow ball they cannot score any more stapleford points.

I've booked 3 x tee offs, 11:00, 11:10; 11:20 for 9 people

spoke to some one who has played at St Clere's and he says it's a pretty good course, a bit of a nightmare if it rains, it's quite open and it's not far from the river.

Betts is well up for it, we're going down the range everynight after work this week... 'AVE IT!!

Lol thats cheating isnt it?

I havent played since our last game, may have to blow the cobwebs off the clubs and have a bash before hand. Failing that I had better stock up on the golf *****.

Cheating? CHEATING? yeah, maybe, AND? lol

well, considering Betts has only played one round ever, and I had pro lessons.....about 18 years ago, I think we need all the practise we can get!!!!

Bought a big bertha 11.5deg, 440cc driver a couple of weeks ago, and it's still in the cellaphane!

ok, ok, so I'm a little slow on the uptake

The pre meet is at the Macdonalds on the A127 (London bound) the one on the way to the poser's cruise meet.,
for those heading Southend bound on the A127, turn off at the Wickford turn off, and come back London bound(A127), it's the first slip road, you can't miss it.
